Maybe reading into that too much but "Boss" makes it sound more like one of the owners rather than a manager.

Though confirming a manager would narrow down who it could be and conflict with the anonymity part.

If its a manager, since its was in UK in 90s, its one of five right? Moyes, Dyche, Howe, O'Neill and Wilder

Wilder is ruled out as it was someone in post in November. Neither O’Neill nor Howe would have been in “boss” positions 20 years ago due to their age. So IF it was a manager it is probably Moyes or Dyche. Tho as DS says, language used means it might not be a manager.

Another article says it's an executive so I think that narrows it to a club owner/board member or even someone within the PL hierarchy itself.

Not going to keep going on about the result, but Wolves must be delighted this happened literally hours after their statement. Gordon ridiculously eloquent as always.

He's so well spoken.

Also, maybe it's just me but there's a very slight hint of Geordie creeping in to his accent at the start of the interview.

Anyone think this backlash over the Aussie trip is a little bit OTT. Some are going on like the 2 friendlies are going to massively impact players and those going to the Euros, I mean what if we had made the FA cup final, do people complain it's an extra game? It's barely a first team that's heading out there, they will more than likely only doing very light training and likely playing two 45 minutes half's at the very most. Also what's the difference to the mid season training camps/friendlies we did in recent years.

The game isn’t really the issue I guess, it’s probably spending 2 days travelling that isn’t great for a group of players who are probably in “the red zone” already and some will have international football over summer, leaving them little time to rest.

But it is football nowadays and post season friendlies, as ridiculous as they are will be here to stay.

I've no issue with it at all, as Don Sholeone says they'll still be back before the FA Cup final even kicks off, and having played 2 kick abouts they're even less likely to get an injury. Surely better now than playing a game during the "mid-season break" or even the daft Far East/US tours just before the start of the season?
