Some players really are absolutely brain dead. But lots of ‘normal’ 18 to twenty something men are so suppose why would footballers be any different.

Next squad announcement is due this afternoon! Foden and Greenwood rumoured to be dropped while Calvert-Lewin is obviously set to be included.

Calvert-Lewin has had a fantastic start to the season so deserves his call-up when it comes. Though Everton now have a decent midfield and will create a lot of chances for him, can the same be said for England?
I won't be watching a single minute of any international football over the break.

Depends if Southgate goes for the 3 DM approach again.Bodacious Benny wrote: ↑Thu Oct 01, 2020 11:19 amCalvert-Lewin has had a fantastic start to the season so deserves his call-up when it comes. England briefly were fun to watch but now its back to dross and favourite players who are undroppable despite their bad form (winks, dier, Pickford, Lingard, Stones). So like the previous 15 years. No from me.

DCL was always getting in that squad, deservedly so. Good to see Saka and Barnes included. That midfield is quite light though, looks like he will be playing with three CDM's

It’s a shame for Walker-Peters that he’s a RB as he has a good restart / start to this season but with TAA, Walker, Trippier, AWB etc at RB he’ll never get a look in.

Then you've got Tariq Lamptey coming through in the same position as well.

Yep, he’s been linked to Bayern. Imagine his pace on the right and that Davies guy on the left!

And Reece James, I'd put him ahead of AWB.

Winks will never get any appreciation. He's the perfect CM for any team that wants to play any sort of possession football.Colback's Orange Tufts wrote: ↑Thu Oct 01, 2020 12:13 pmEngland briefly were fun to watch but now its back to dross and favourite players who are undroppable despite their bad form (winks, dier, Pickford, Lingard, Stones). Yeah, if you have a talented CM partner next to him...ALF wrote: ↑Thu Oct 01, 2020 6:41 pmWinks will never get any appreciation. I was playing career mode on Fifa the other day (as Elias Sorensen ) and Newcastle signed Davies for £20m . He is absolutely unstoppable. You can just run past players and take the ball off them. But then Bruce told me I wasn't needed and sold me to RB SalzburgBodacious Benny wrote: ↑Thu Oct 01, 2020 4:26 pmYep, he’s been linked to Bayern. Davies is the best thing to ever come from Canadian football. Take that Owen Hargreaves!

Honestly hope to never see Declan Rice in an England side again. Awful player. Does feel like there's a like a quality in that area, and it's a real shame we can't seem to get the Sancho that plays for Dortmund. Who would people want at right back?
Re: England Thread - Squad Announcement This Afternoon! (1st Oct)
Rice is even better when he's played alongside another defensive mid like Dier
The lack of creativity probably has something to do with Sancho not playing as well for us
