I'm not sure Darlow has had a single clean take this game....

Very good goal. Not been a classic but weve neutralised them and hit them well

Re: Match thread: Newcastle v Everton
Pretty dramatic difference what a bit of extra pressure does. All season we've conceded so much of the field, resulting in constant pressure and so many shots. Has been obvious today (at least until we had the lead, and maybe not until up 2), that we've held out lines farther up the pitch and added a bit more pleasure.
Of course as I'm about to submit that, they score a goal after we stopped doing what had worked for the first 70 minutes.

Get in!!!
Great result, good performance. Wish we hadn't nearly thrown it away at the end but overall i'm happy.

Re: Match thread: Newcastle v Everton
And further to my previous post, when has playing deep and soft ever worked for us? We park the bus every week, concede so much pressure, and had what did they say, 2 clean sheets in our last 14? So the idea that we have to play that way to get results is proven wrong by the lack of defensive results.
But we got the win today, which is great and was needed! I'd just argue it's because we played a bit differently for much of the match. Hopefully Bruce will learn some lessons - but unlikely.
