Re: TRAINING GROUND CLOSED - VILLA GAME IN DOUBT
Think we’d need a lot more players to go down with it for the PL to consider a postponement.

It’s a pretty good excuse for Bruce to use after losing
I wonder how long he can use it for.

Entire squad self-isolating... surely we can’t play Villa?!

According to the article, if you can field a starting XI and name 3 subs then no postponement.

I’m astonished outbreaks like these haven’t happened sooner.

After watching some of our performances under Bruce I was just surprised to read we had a training ground!

I remember watching a documentary with Bobby Robson in the early 2000s and he was saying how impressive and state of the art the training grounds were, which was true...20 years ago. When you compare it to the likes of Brighton's training ground now (we're not being deluded trying to compete with Brighton are we...) it's pretty embarrassing now and you can see the lack of investment in infrastructure.

Will this involve a points deduction?

?
Presumably only if the PL said the game was to go ahead and we just didn't turn up, which is highly unlikely to happen.

Happened to Napoli. We can appeal to have postponed but the calendar is full and Mike hasn't exactly made us popular with the Premier League

Yeah, that was for a fail to show though (-1 point) when the Italian FA said that the game was on. Napoli just decided not to travel due to Covid. I'd be very surprised if we did the same.Colback's Orange Tufts wrote: ↑Tue Dec 01, 2020 11:57 amHappened to Napoli. Hopefully Bruce can put together a group of players who haven't had the ability to play football trained out of them.
Re: TRAINING GROUND CLOSED - VILLA GAME IN DOUBT
Doubt it, the youth team have been training under Beardsley until far too recently. Dogdirt.overseasTOON wrote: ↑Tue Dec 01, 2020 12:27 pmHopefully Bruce can put together a group of players who haven't had the ability to play football trained out of them.

Yes. We’ll drop precisely three points when our kids team loses to Villa.
Not that the 1st team would have done much better...

Re: TRAINING GROUND CLOSED - VILLA GAME IN DOUBT
Villa and Leeds both get heaps of praise from pundits but both are beatable and inconsistent. They both lose almost every other game (Villa lost 4/9 and Leeds lost 4/10. They're generally either excellent or a bit s****. We're the same in that we've also lost 4/10, difference is we're generally crap to watch most games but other than that there's not much at all between the three teams and we'll all be around about the same position come the end of the season.seatonsluicetoon wrote: ↑Tue Dec 01, 2020 2:59 pmYes. Edit: that's not to say I think we'd go to Villa and win, just that they're not exactly unbeatable. Brighton just beat them.
