We intercept the ball and just pass it back. So depressing.
Re: Match Thread - Brentford v Newcastle (LC QF)
We literally don't have a central midfield so we can never control possession. I don't know what it'll take to put right but it's been an issue for years. Need a new manager and a total clearout.originallad wrote: ↑Tue Dec 22, 2020 6:09 pmWe intercept the ball and just pass it back. So depressing.

BBC radio have now finished praising Bruce.
Us pesky demanding fans are still at fault.

We fall back when we don't have the ball, defending in a very deep bank of 1, 3, 6. inviting all the pressure on. No midfield so whoever does have it gets swamped, it's lumped forward and we're pushed further back.
Absolutely shocking that we're relying solely on this backwards plan no matter the opposition.

It’ll work one day then bacon features will be like -“I told you so “. He’s so out of touch it’s unreal. Ashley to blame like- he literally has full all ambition for us.krully wrote: ↑Tue Dec 22, 2020 6:16 pmWe fall back when we don't have the ball, defending in a very deep bank of 1, 3, 6. inviting all the pressure on. That was pretty poor. The shocking weather and pitch haven't helped either team.

So the answer is we haven't learnt from the Leeds and Fulham games then. Plus we are s*** and haven't got a clue how to play football.
What fun!

I tried to find tan article saying that Bruce doesn't like tactics, came across an article from 2011 saying that his tactics are datedToondes wrote: ↑Tue Dec 22, 2020 6:19 pmIt’ll work one day then bacon features will be like -“I told you so “. This. I've been shouting this for ages now. We need a athletic, physically strong & mobile (pacey) box-to-box midfielder who can take us further on the pitch, put himself about in defense and attack and be a game changer. Neither Longstaff or Shelvey are the answer.. Murphy & Miggy being totally anonymous. Fraser our best player so far getting himself into good positions, testing the keeper once and putting some lovely crosses in. Wilson had a couple chances too and putting himself about as usually, strong hold-up play and pace (as per). Lewis is so s***.. weak and no tactical awareness / footballing IQ. Yeds looking OK.. defense partnership of Hayden-Clark has been mainly solid. Need more in the second half if we are to go through..Colly wrote: ↑Tue Dec 22, 2020 6:15 pmWe literally don't have a central midfield so we can never control possession. I'd like to see Hendrick finally given his chance in the centre of midfield. Not saying he'll be a game changer but would be nice to see if play in his actual position for once and can't see him doing any worse then Longstaff. Lewis needs dropping once Dummet is fit. Also, where is Matty Longstaff?Sanchino wrote: ↑Tue Dec 22, 2020 6:25 pmThis. I've been shouting this for ages now. Fucks sake Murphy should have crossed it first time.
