This is like watching paint dry. We are desperately missing almiron and his pressing.

Would happily never see Shelvey and Hendrick never play for us again. The same goes for Hayden as anything further forward than DM.

Who'd have thought one of our most promising bits of attacking passing would come from Paul Dummett stepping forward into CM.

Need to stop the long balls unless we’re on the counter

Hendrick off for Murphy or Gayle please. Need more craft (and less Krafth) going forward.

Well I actually thought we did okay. We looked well organised and never gave them a sniff, Dummett makes the defence look far better than Lewis does. Shelvey is actually putting a shift in too. We had a couple of decent counters and Fraser our most attacking threat. We’re obviously lacking in the attacking third but with ASM, Almiron and Wilson out that’s no surprise. It’s like taking Salah, Mané and Firmino out of Liverpool, or Grealish, Watkins and Traore out of Villa.

Even Joelinton has shown some decent strength and runs against their back line.

Well that was horrendous.

Both teams deserve to be relegated. It was like a poor quality mid table Champipnship game. I think the top 6 in the Championship would comfortably beat both us and West Brom.

This would actually be the perfect game for Carroll, there centre halves are bullying us due to a lack of physicality. In such a scrappy, low intensity game like this one, sticking Carroll up top would probably work.

Hendricks and Joelinton are ****. Get the pair off for Carool and Gayle. Stick them upfront, have Fraser playing in behind (/drifting wide - playing a bit of a free role) and drop Willock back into the position midfield role Hendricks is supposedly attempting to play.
Dubravka
Krafth Lascelles Clark Dummett
Hayden
Willock Shelvey
Fraser
Gayle Carroll
That would be much more effective than the same formation but with Joelinton and Hendrocks in.

Looks like Championship football. Tempo & intensity non-existent.. we look threatening in patches & I'm sure we'll be winning by now if any of Wilson, Miggy or ASM was on the pitch. Brom' came more into it after the first 20 mins or so.. fairly even with low quality. Need Murphy / Gayle on the pitch.. Hendrick & Shelvey have sort of found there level (Championship standard) but still look poor.. Dummet's been solid at LB. Willock looked decent at the start but didn't have a sniff towards the end. Joelinton & Fraser should have had at least scored one.. but they look OK. I have a feeling we're gonna lose this 1-0.. scrappy shitty goal by Bartley or something like that from a set-piece/corner. <urgh>

Why does so many people think Carroll is the saviour, hes literally done next to nothing when he's played.

Agreed, given our chances are coming on the counter I don’t see how he’s any use whatsoever. I reckon Bruce could probably outpace him.

This. he's slow & past it but for this type of game it'll suit his style.. low-tempo / low-intensity you can just go route one & let Murphy/Fraser/Gayle play off him.. Joelinton's done alright in patches with his running & physicality.. Murphy/Gayle on for Hendrick/Shelvey & move Willock into there position. <ok>

At this point I think Gayle is slower than Carroll.
