Shelvey dropped to CB (ish). Allows him to run less and hoof it more. Perfect.

Spuds have been here for the taking if only we had a decent striker on the pitch. Gonna be another of those games we should've gotten something from but for our ineptitude.
^^^ this^^^^^ it’s been the case most weeks.
Ironically today we have had a right few good chances but our lack of quality to finish is killing us.

Good point - could’ve been 3 though...

Joelinton MOTM for us even though he should’ve scored at least one more.

Did you hear Willocks post match interview ?
The gaffer said “ go on - run about and try and score “.

I know. There is nothing like detailed instructions ... and that was nothing like detailed instructions. Whatever would we do without such inspiring knowledge gained from decades in the game?

Clark clearly dropped due to his comments during the week.

I think the key here is the squad probably is good enough but they do not have the management to get anything close to consistently good out of them. Yeah, we've had some bad injuries but even when we did have Wilson, Saint-Maximin and Almiron all playing together we were s**** more often than not.
What comments ?
Something about the players not being up for it etc.

Good point.. maybe even deserved all three but it'll do. Shame Fulham are beating Villa now so it's looking like we'll be in the bottom three for this weekend. We had so many chances.. but we lacked a clinical touch, Wilson would have had a brace minimum today if those Joelinton's chances came to him. I thought Murphy was our MOTM with his pace & crossing. Ritchie did OK for his first game back, Joelinton scored & his general play was decent, Dummet was solid at the back, Kraft is mediocre and should be replaced by Clark who's actually a CB, Jonjo did OK in patches & put himself about a bit same with Longstaff, Miggy was his usual hard-working self but he's had better days, good too see ASM back on the pitch & Gayle's movement was good but his finishing was poor & what a impact Willock made when he came on! Changed the energy & tempo of the team & got us forward, I'll like to see him start next week too.

Team for Burnley (3-4-1-2)

Dubra
Clark Lascelles Dummet
Murphy Willock Shelvey Ritchie
Miggy
Wilson* ---- ASM

*If not fit enough to start then Joelinton

Huge weekend next week. If Wolves beat Fulham and we can do Burnley then that gives us a 6 point cushion and a game in hand. As good as they have been we need to target West Ham for 3 points too imo, with Wilson hopefully back for Burnley we really need to make the most of it.

Missed the game as had a massive sneezing fit on Saturday and seem to have pulled a muscle in my back and my stomach <laugh> Well, I would laugh if it didn't cause so much pain.

f*** I'm getting old!

Seems a better forward line would have put Spurs to the sword.

At least Fulham lost.

Wolves 3-1 down at half-time to West Ham, can't see them beating Fulham on Friday evening - could be kicking-off against Burnley in the bottom 3.

Meant to come on after the game to give my view. Great performance bar the 4 minute period after we scored, should have won that game though I think anyone would have taken a point if offered before the game so can't complain too much.

The big test now is if we can play like that against Burnley on Sunday.
I'll Hazard a guess

Don't understand why we take the game to Spurs but against Sheffield United, West Brom and Brighton we sit back and offer nothing.

This. If we could have even got a couple wins from those games we would be cushy in mid-table. But it is what it is.. Burnley won't be easy at there ground but it's still winnable.. could see a dull-ish draw though, but we need the 3 points especially if Fulham win against Wolves.

Don't forget our ridiculous draw against Liverpool when they were still fairly formidable. That was supposed to be the start of a run of form, we lost 6 on the bounce instead.

Yeah that's the worst thing if we were consistently bad then I think we'd all accept yeah were crap, but randomly we'll have games against Spurs, Liverpool, Man United (I thought we done quite well despite losing 3-1) but then we'd be dog dirt against West Brom
I'll Hazard a guess
