Match day thread - Fulham v NUFC
For the second time in three years, Newcastle play their final game of the season at Craven Cottage against a Fulham side condemned to relegation.
While that 2019 game was a 4-0 romp in front of a buoyant away (and neutral) end, the crowd at Sunday's meeting is restricted to 2,000 home followers, that lower limit imposed due to ongoing work that means the ground is currently only three-sided.
It's a 4pm kick-off, live on Sky Sports Mix.
If Newcastle win the game and West Bromwich Albion fail to win at Leeds United it will mean that Joe Willock's 85th minute equaliser at home to Spurs at the start of April was when we mathematically secured our Premier League status.
Beginning the day in 15th spot, Newcastle could end the season anywhere between 12th and 17th.
NUFC: There are doubts over both Allan Saint-Maximin and Martin Dubravka. Fabian Schar is available after completing his three match suspension but Karl Darlow, Isaac Hayden, Callum Wilson and Ryan Fraser are all out.
FFC: Aleksandar Mitrovic, Antonee Robinson and Tom Cairney won't play while Harrison Reed is doubtful.
Scott Parker's side won the last of their five PL games this season at Anfield in early March, since when they've lost seven times and drawn twice.
On home ground they've taken just 10 points from a possible 54 so far, with their two victories coming against fellow relegation victims West Bromwich Albion and Sheffield United.
Referee: Chris Kavanagh - second game of the season involving the Lancastrian whistler, following the FA Cup defeat at Arsenal back in January.
VAR: Robert Jones.

3-4-1-2 / 3-5-2
Dubra
Kraft Fernandez Dummet
Murphy Shelvey S.Longstaff Ritchie
Willock
Miggy ------- ASM
No ''farewell'' start for Carroll in potentially his last game involved with us. Can't complain with the team though.. Willock, Miggy & ASM are always a threat.. could see both teams scoring in a thriller. 2-3 to us.. Willock with a header to win it at the end.

We all (rightfully) ridiculed Bruce for telling Willock to 'run around a bit and try score a goal' but you know what, he may be on to something. Tactical genius

Re: Match day thread - Fulham v NUFC
This.. I don't think Arsenal will sell for less than 25 mil or even 30 mil now with the form he's showing!
Fulham have some very good individuals like Anguissa who's been everywhere and looks like the box-to-box athletic & powerful CM we need but also Lookman's & Cavaiero's pace & skill is a issue, but you can see why they are were they are they don't have a goal scorer & every time they cross the ball they don't have a target-man / striker to aim for. There tidy & good on the ball with good possession stats but they don't have that clinical / cutting edge in the final third & defensively they've been poor/leaky/suspect in most games. Mitrovic can't even get into the starting XI.. this season's he's been poor.. only 3 goals in 25 apps.
Anyways.. Willock's been quality (as usual) always full of energy, running & of course GOALS!! Maxi been abit hit & miss.. showed some good touches & skill but his decision making at times has been awful.. every time we counter or hit them in the transition we look a threat. Longstaff & Shelvey been solid.. so as the defence & Murphy's been making some good runs, really has transformed his career around now & looks like a dead cert to start anytime we play a wing-back system.. maybe give Manquillo a run-out for Kraft and push Murphy more forward.

See we've reverted to total possession surrender again. You'd think last game of season with nothing to lose we'd have a right good go
