Haha sure he was mooted a few years ago. He's not rich enough to buy on his own so would need a consortium, we all know how much Ashley loves that.

Face it, we're going nowhere (other than down perhaps) and neither is Ashley.

The squad is weaker than it was last season and the teams at the bottom are generally a bit better. Yes there's Norwich who you'd fancy to go (though have added some players and looked okay v Leicester) but there's not as many whipping boys as there were last season when Fulham, Sheffield United and WBA were all awful for most of the season so pretty much made sure the likes of us, Brighton and Burnley had no problem staying up. This season, Brentford and Watford have both looked okay and shown a little bit to suggest they won't be getting pummelled every week and will pick up some points. It's definitely going to be a very long season and wouldn't be surprised to see us in the bottom 3 for large parts of it.

Also, the fact nobody would take most of the players we may have been interested in shipping out (Hayden, Longstaff and others all mooted with possible moves) shows how poor the overall quality of a lot of the squad is.

I just hope most of you have been hit on the chin enough now to not care too much. It just makes our lives miserable.

Can't wait for Man U after the international break with Ronaldo making his debut, Sancho guaranteed his first goal for the club, Varane looking very good, Greenwood and Pogba on form, Bruno being Bruno - we will get absolutely pummelled!

At least Man U are most dangerous when on the counter attack, and goodness knows Bruce won't feed into that.

I see serge Aurier has been released by Tottenham. Better than what we have , massive upgrade on Richie .

I thought the same thing. Not sure if he already has something lined up with another, or wants to head back to France. But if not, definitely should be targetting him.

Would happily take him here but can’t see it happening.

Right sided fullback isn't he? I'd have him here for sure but you'd imagine he'd have something lined up on the continent.

Yeah that’s right, very attacking and quick.

Not sure, though PL squads haven’t been submitted yet have they so maybe still time for changes?

Of all the places we need to strengthen right back isn't a priority. I'd probably sooner Manquillo over Aurier anyway.

Who are they trying to convince…?

Edit: Fwiw I think the below tweet is the key bit. This sounds like they’re calling out Steve Bruce for wanting more… (as he allegedly pushed for on deadline day)

They'd have been better saying nothing, I just think this will alienate fans even more than they currently are.

This. Granted a lot of our fans are thick as two short planks, but nobody is buying that crap.
