Re: Transfer Deadline Day Thread
Lets see what other clubs do
There are a fair few rumours flying around so maybe for once it'll be a decent deadline day as they've been a bit meh for years now. Though timing it to coincide with an international window doesn't really help anyone with players scattered all over the place now.

Dan James costing Leeds £30m
He's got less end product than Adama Traore, he's literally just good at running.

Ronaldo confirmed to Man Utd - https://www.manutd.com/en/news/detail/c ... m-juventus
It's been interesting watching the flip-flopping from fans of different teams as his expected destination changed - anywhere from one of the two best players in the world down to an elderly, immobile striker that has some unpleasant charges hanging over him. At one point a betrayer, but now a legend again, etc...

This can only go well. Sounds like Bruce and the club are disagreeing here.

No need to get anyone in, we can extrapolate the league standings to see the final table will be...

Bellerin going to Betis on loan, what a nose dive his career has taken. It wasn't that long ago he was very highly rated and linked to the likes of Barcelona. Now he can't get a game for Arsenal, looks rubbish when he does play, and is now off to Betis instead.

If ever there was a club to try and do a deal with it's Valencia right now. They literally gave Kang-In Lee away this past week on a free transfer (after him being in their academy since he was 10) just to free a roster spot and wages for a new signing. Their mismanagement with the current and previous ownership is ghastly.

Yeesh. Could see this coming unfortunately. It was obvious when offers were going out to different types of CMs, and then after getting Willock that all went dry. Clearly only budgeted for one addition and even then didn't have a clear prioritized plan for what position needing filling. Another year of predictably risking relegation, ensuring no new owners take the plunge to pay Ashley's price for a club that might not stay in the PL.

I can totally tolerate the Ronaldo coverage when focusing on football and what he brings to Man U raving about him - even though it seems pretty nostalgic in nature. But given the pretty brutal allegations still being investigated and looming over him, I would probably prefer there weren't quotes and headlines like "Cristiano Ronaldo is an example to every footballer."

Also don't really get the logic behind the expectation that an investment firm owning Burnley would result in them spending big money. You need personal ego or motivation for marketing your companies or country if you want big spending - not a boardroom of people or shareholders looking for profit.

What's Ronaldo alleged to have done? Completely missed that one. Can't be any worse than Mendy or Glyfi
