Re: New Manager: Eddie Howe Confirmed
Going to miss the Arsenal game as well apparently.
Re: New Manager: Eddie Howe Confirmed
Good line-up line if true. Would prefer Lewis over Ritchie but would be happy with that team. 442 attacking, on the front foot & high pressure! Looking forward to it.TJR wrote: ↑Fri Nov 19, 2021 10:38 amBased on his press conference, I reckon the team will be something like this tomorrow, possibly more of a 4-4-1-1 with Big Joe dropping deeper than Wilson to link up play.
Darlow
Manquillo Lascelles Fernandez Ritchie
StMaximin Hayden Shelvey Fraser
Joelinton Wilson
He said Shelvey would be key for us with our new technical approach. Also talked up Big Joe's technical ability.
He also mentioned that he's hesitant to put players in who've been on international duty as they've missed important sessions on the new style of play and he's worried they might try and play how they previously have been.

Most Newcastle thing ever.
Re: New Manager: Eddie Howe Confirmed
it's disappointing that he cannot get here due to Covid but I don't really think it's that big a deal.
The training sessions hace been done- he's got his message across
hid 2nd/ 3rd in command can see that his plan is carried out . Also he can still interact with the team/ staff via vid link / phone during the match.
fingers crossed for a good performance.
we could do with 3 points but the performance is the biggie.

It’s more an issue for next week when he can’t take training for the best part of a week tbh, tho I’d expect to lose to Arsenal anyway.

Re: New Manager: Eddie Howe Confirmed
The good thing is this is a tight knit coaching team, Eddie will always have these guys with him because they have all bought into and understand the philosophy, Tindall will be more than prepared to step up for the game today also being absent probably has some advantages in terms of having access to video and possibly giving a slight tactical advantage.
Also if the team needs more time to adapt to the system and we don't get something today then he's got a ready made excuse to keep the wolves off his back, because we all know there are some people itching to criticise us at every opportunity.

Howe will be in the dugout tomorrow after returning a negative Covid test.

Part of me hoped he wouldn't make it, then his first 'proper' game would hopefully have been at home to Norwich with 3 points
Can't see us getting anything at Arsenal, we hardly ever do.

Re: New Manager: Eddie Howe Confirmed
A lot of confusion comes from the starting point for isolation, if you have symptoms on the Tuesday but don't test positive until the Friday then you start the 10 days isolation from the the day the symptoms started so in that case it would be from the Tuesday. If Asymptomatic then you start from the day of the test result which would have been Friday.
Think a lot of confusion with Howe is because people are assuming he was asymptomatic up until the point he tested positive so assume that his isolation would have started on that day.

Thought I’d take a quick look back on your forum 2 years on and a few days before we play you. You must be over the moon at the transformation under Eddie. I am so happy and proud to see him doing so well, and that he is getting the recognition he deserves. Really hope you stick with him and let him build something truly special.BournemouthFan wrote: ↑Thu Nov 04, 2021 8:31 pmBournemouth fan here to let you know how lucky you are to be appointing Eddie Howe. I am obviously biased but I think you will soon have a team that you are both proud of and excited to watch.
Player after player say Eddie is the best manager they have ever played under. When Eddie ruthlessly sold our Championship winning captain Tommy Elphick to Aston Villa, then managed by a certain Steve Bruce, Elphick told his former Bournemouth teammates that Eddie’s management, coaching and training was on another planet from that at Villa.
Eddie has a big point to prove after our relegation (which was by 1 point in the season interrupted by COVID) and I think that works in your favour. He is one of the hardest working managers in the game with a clear and positive footballing philosophy. He will sign players in his own mould: young, hungry and eager to continuously improve.
I’d be amazed if you went down now, especially if Saint-Maximin and Wilson stay fit. And there are no issues between Eddie and Ryan Fraser as some people have suggested (us Bournemouth fans hate him though!).
Please give Eddie a chance and get behind him and you won’t be disappointed. Hope to see you at St. James’ Park next season…in the Prem of course! I’m

Re: New Manager
Welcome back! Eddie has been every bit as good as you said and he has galvanised the entire club from top to bottom. How he has turned around the fortunes of the likes of Lascelles, Murphy, Schar, Almiron, Longstaff and pretty much every player at the club has been unbelievable. I hope he stays for a long time! I’ve not enjoyed watching us play this much since the days of Sir Bobby.BournemouthFan wrote: ↑Mon Nov 06, 2023 8:35 amThought I’d take a quick look back on your forum 2 years on and a few days before we play you. Hopefully Bournemouth stay up and start winning a few games, but not until after we play you
