You did agree on it. Enough said.Uncle Paul wrote: ↑Sun Oct 17, 2021 4:55 pmOur whole back line is terrible, maybes Manquillo being an exception.

I'm betting Bruce is wishing they'd sacked him during the week now. 1000 games in charge and still clueless.
And as I type this we get a second. OG from Dier.

Who is the first person you can't wait to see not in the team and why is it Jamaal Lascelles?

Thanks for nothing, Steve. Off he goes.

I now have a little bit more faith that he might go though, now they've seen him with their own eyes.

Well that was ugly stuff.
Euphoria in the Leazes for about 15, then went to utter rat s*** true to form.
Predictably painful start of a new era , thought after we went 3-1 down during the extended period it killed us completely. I just knew we were losing another there. The unfortunate break in play seemed to affect the whole place , we never got back into it in any shape. As for lost shape I still do t know what Bruce wants to do with the players. Nowt through mid field and WTAF has happened to Joe Willock
Also IMO got quite ugly in the Leazes end , all in all it’s the start of a difficult process.
Utterly underwhelmed tonight, off to get loaded with beer in the Toon.

This. Keep Dubra, Wilson, ASM & even though Willock has been very ordinary this season I'm sure with a new manager he'll improve as he's only just turned 22 so still got a lot of football ahead of him. The rest are all very replaceable / not good enough. Some are good enough as solid squad players (while we're still in the development phase) the likes of Fraser (when fit & firing), Murphy (still got his best years ahead of him) ,Manquillo (solid back-up as can play both full-back positions), Lascelles (reaching his peak.. still only 27) & Hayden (as back-up he's useful as he can play different defensive positions but shouldn't be our starting DM come next season) & Miggy (under a new manager who can coach him properly & use his pace to effective / more clinical use he'll be a very useful outlet of the bench as a impact sub or as a back-up option for AM / wing positions). I say keep Schar for another season or two as back-up as he's the only real ball playing CB at the club right now. Loan out the likes of Eliot Anderson, Longstaff, Watts, & Lewis. Dummet is also a good enough experienced back up as he can cover CB/LB and is comfortable in a back four or back three. Release Fernandez as his age is showing now.
The likes of Gayle, Ritchie, Shelvey, Clark, Kraft, Hendrick, Joelinton, etc need to be shifted as soon as possible. Simply not good enough for the Premier League.

And unrelated, the frequency in which our CBs are completely unaware of the opposing team's best attacker running in behind them is shocking. It's bad enough tactically when you get your high line or offside trap wrong - but 3/4s of the time they aren't even trying to deploy the trap but just have no clue a player like Kane is unmarked making a run.
