Arsenal v Newcastle
Dubravka and Krafth start for Darlow and Clark. Fraser in too.

I do worry that our CM will just be completely bypassed by Arsenal but f*** it, we’d probably lose anyway so might as well have a go!

Re: Arsenal v Newcastle
Indeed. Shelvey and Willock in the middle alone with no one behind them smells like trouble. Not pleased by seeing Ødegaard in the lineup, he has stamina for days.Bodacious Benny wrote: ↑Sat Nov 27, 2021 11:41 amI do worry that our CM will just be completely bypassed by Arsenal but **** it, we’d probably lose anyway so might as well have a go!

He’ll clearly score now, but I don’t particularly rate Odegaard.

Wow. Not seen such an attacking line up in ages, and away to Arsenal too. Looks like s*** or bust.

Re: Arsenal v Newcastle
Would rather have Hayden in midfield instead of Shelvey to shore things up.
Re: Arsenal v Newcastle
This. Looks like a attacking line-up.. seems like this could either be a entertaining 2-2 draw or a 4-2/5-1 thumpingBodacious Benny wrote: ↑Sat Nov 27, 2021 11:41 amI do worry that our CM will just be completely bypassed by Arsenal but **** it, we’d probably lose anyway so might as well have a go!
Would've liked to have seen a more balanced line-up.. maybe have had Hayden in there with Jonjo & Shelvey to give us a defensive shield in midfield. Either way we're going for it & it's refreshing exciting & positive too see even if we lose at least it'll be fun!
Arsenal to win 3-1. We'll give them a game but after 70/75 mins we'll run out of stamina and Arsenal will capitalise on that.
Interesting too see Fraser at RWB.. could be a genius move that. Kraft starting at CB worries me a bit.. would've preferred Fernandez coming back in but it could be to combat Saka's, Aumabayans' & Smith-Rowes's pace, movement and trickery/skill. Speed wise.. Kraft is (quicker) than Fernandez.
Re: Arsenal v Newcastle
No, me neither. I saw him as a 15 year old in Strømsgodset and he was the best player in our league. Real didn't do him well, and since then he doesn't have the same believe in himself. He looks shaky at times, but my god can the boy run.Bodacious Benny wrote: ↑Sat Nov 27, 2021 11:55 amHe’ll clearly score now, but I don’t particularly rate Odegaard.

Eddie Howe just said “we use different tactics for each game”…

Re: Arsenal v Newcastle
The thing is with our attack there's goals.. we can score a coupe but with our defence & no defensive protection in midfield we're gonna concede a couple too.. it's like a 50/50 gamble here which could we gain a small - big profit (draw or even better win) if we pressure Arsenal get under them & go for it but at the same time it could easliy backfire and we could end up getting beat quite bad. Just depends what Arsenal turns up (the inconsistent / average one) or the one that looks like a top 6 contender right now. Of course we might have to ride our luck a bit.. but I'm quietly confident we'll shock a couple people or two. It's defo a three at the back right? Does anyone think it could be something like this instead..
Dubra
Kraft Lascelles Schar Ritchie
Shelvey Willock
Fraser Joelinton ASM
Wilson
4-2-3-1 / 4-4-1-1 With Big joe dropping back into midfield to help out and link up play.

Middle to front looks good , Dubravka back hopefully a big plus but defensively I have the fear.
More optimistic than would have been under Bruce but this hope for front foot football away at Arsenal ?
Hope for the best , hopefully put them off their stride but going for a hopeful draw

Can we have a new rule where shrieking kids aren’t allowed to sit near microphones?
