Match Thread: Newcastle v Norwich
This is undoubtedly the next in the series of 'must win' games that we've had recently, none of which we've won...
A win for us will be a huge confidence boost and set us up nicely for Burnley, a loss/defeat will likely as good as condemn us to relegation (even at this stage of the season). If we can't beat Norwich at home then we don't deserve a spot in the PL, luckily our record against them at SJP is pretty good and perhaps Lascelles and Ritchie being banned is a blessing in disguise.

I'm the scumbag outlaw. You're the pillar of justice. Neither of us like looking at ourselves in the mirror. Do we have a deal?
Re: Match Thread: Newcastle v Norwich
Am I the only one who wants to see Longstaff in the starting lineup? I think he is our best duel midfielder.
I saw some stat a few weeks ago and he was number 2 on amounts of pressure on ballcarrier at the time in EPL, which is massive! He doesn't have the strength, creativity and technique that you want in a midfielder, but he has tons of courage and a better defender than most in that postition, and I bet he wants to prove himself now for the new manager.

I think either him or Hayden needs to come in, a central midfield 2 of Willock and Shelvey doesn't work.

Former Magpie Malcolm Macdonald will be holding a pre-match talk-in from 6pm. Free entry to both.

Former Magpie 'keeper Tim Krul is ever-present in the PL this season for City and is yet to lose competitively to his old club since leaving SJP in 2017 (3-1 at Carrow Road and then 0-0 at SJP in 2019/20). He was in goal for their 0-3 loss on Tyneside back in pre-season.

I agree. When Benitez was thrown away like garbage I felt done... I needed a break from football, watched alot of american football and MMA which I do anyway, and I was completely fine with it.overseasTOON wrote: ↑Tue Nov 30, 2021 5:12 pmGenuinely crapping it for this game which is a nice feeling to have again.
I basically came back here on the forum just because I wanted to talk about the club again, then boom, 2 months later takeover came Now I'm just smiling, if we go down or not I really couldn't care less. But the feeling of a game now is so much different than it was a couple of months ago. I cannot wait to get the opportunity to visit the city in the near future. Just need to wait for this covid hysteria calm down a bit so I can bring my daughter and her mother

While I've no doubt managing Newcastle has been hideous, and Keegan even legally proved he was constructively dismissed, Rafa walked.Oval85 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 30, 2021 5:26 pmI agree. Re: Match Thread: Newcastle v Norwich
Bad choice of words,I agree, but I still feel like he was because of the way the top floor handled him. Then suddenly Bruce comes in and the club is suddenly ready to use money again?! That is at least garbage treatment of a class act person and manager.
Re: Match Thread: Newcastle v Norwich
4-4-2 / 4-4-1-1 with Joelinton dropping into midfield to help out. Positive attacking team. Pace out wide, creativity in the middle (Hoping Jonjo has a cracking game) & two up top.. hoping Wilson bags one early on. Good too see Lewis & Manquillo back. Would've picked Fernandez over Clark.UlversToon wrote: ↑Tue Nov 30, 2021 6:41 pmNewcastle XI: Dubravka, Manquillo, Clark, Schar, Lewis, Fraser, Shelvey, Willock, Saint-Maximin, Wilson, Joelinton
