I'm more concerned about the use of the term wounded rather than the fairly funny Joelinton remark. There's an exit hole, and it's a f***ing cannonball <laugh>

Good little article from Graham Hunter about the potential (negative) impacts of the proposed changes to the football calendar, and how increasing fixture pileup will decrease the quality of the game, but that the super rich in charge don't care.

I see David moyes has agreed with the Southampton boss that any of our new signings shouldn’t be allowed to play in re arranged fixtures haha

They’ll all be moaning about it but it’ll positively / negatively effect pretty much every team with their being so many postponements.

There was a good comment that said we should be allowed to replay all of our fixtures with the new players as the premier league needlessly held us back with the takeover .

So I went to my first live game last night since the pandemic started, got to say the covid checkpoints were an absolute f***ing joke. The main walk to the ground goes over a huge walkway with many choke points along the way that can be used for checking, only one of them was used and they literally had like 5 people "checking" passports, on this route you easily get about 10k fans passing over, they were just letting us all stream through onto the outskirts of the stands, I expected at least a bunch of people at the turnstiles checking, but nope. So for a 25k sell out stadium I saw 5 people checking for passports, I don't blame those doing it for letting people through as they looked like the agency workers that normally do the stewarding so they didn't really give a s***. Absolutely piss poor, no wonder this latest wave is getting out of control.

That first week there was someone outside each turnstile, but even then it was a bit of a mess given you can never get a mobile signal near the ground close to kickoff, I just ended up showing a screenshot I'd taken earlier of the app. It's dropped ever since, though presumably you still have to do that declaration online when you buy tickets?

When I went to the Burnley game in December, which was also my first since the pandemic began, there were no checks and I was merely asked if I had been jabbed. Granted this was before the the latest measures but I'm not sure what would have been done if I had replied that I hadn't been jabbed.

Same when I flew to Ireland in October tbh. Got to Birmingham airport, big queue for checkin, person said “have you had your Covid jabs / got your Covid passport”, didn’t bother checking just took peoples word for it so pretty pointless.

Does anyone know if that African striker for Watford is going to African cup? He was denied at first by Ranieri and the club, then I didn't read anything more about it.

That's a good way to endear your club to players, both in the squad and prospective.

Dennis, he's still at Watford. Apparently they had an agreement with Nigeria that if they didn't call him up before a certain date then Watford could hold him back, which they have.
