I can imagine the season being extended and us being Michael Masi'd if we are within X number of points of relegation. I don't think they would hesitate in having Burnley and co finish the season after we do.

No doubt Southampton would raise objections and suggest that Wood should play for Burnley in the games he would have originally been their player and not be able to play for us against them or Everton as, at the time of the time those games were first scheduled for, he was on Burnley's books.

Did that make sense? 🍺

Thankfully employment contracts would never accommodate requests like that. Games have been PPD and rescheduled since the dawn of football, just usually for different reasons than this (e.g. cup ties, weather, etc.), so there's no precedent for manipulating roster availability.

I'd probably be somewhat in favour of restricting new signings, but only when teams have loads of games in hand. I think a couple of games it doesn't really have a huge impact, but when you start getting into the 5 games behind territory then there is an argument to be made over the integrity of the competition.

Yeah it’s a pointless argument by him as there’s no way in hell they could bring that rule in mid season.

Arsenal taking the piss trying to get the NLD postponed.

Injuries and stupid suspensions are part of the game, it’s not Covid related so play the game.
Game postponed.

No consistency - other teams have been made to play when more depleted than what arsenal claim to be. Suspensions shouldn’t be factored in, that’s the fault of the club / players.

Then wait for the moaning about fixture congestion!

They're probably trying to get as many games as possible delayed until Cornet is back as he's the only one who scores for them.

Piss take <laugh>

What’s the point in teams having academies if they can’t use the players to pad out the squad. Other countries are much stricter on postponements, here it’s just cry to the PL and they let you off.

Still, prevents Watford opening a gap for a few more days.

I don’t believe for one second that some of these postponements couldn’t have been played.

The clubs need to get together and put a stop to this now. Something needs to change and fast.

Integrity ( erm ) of the league is getting stretched to snap here.
This is another case of clubs playing the system. It’s getting embarrassing now.

Arsenal just loaned a player out, after not having enough players to play their last game...

I still think some teams will come to regret it. Between fixture pile-up later, and other more impactful injuries maybe cropping up, they might wish they played a few more during this phase of the season.

Whilst I agree with your point, who have they loaned out? I can't say I've looked in depth, but had a quick gander. None that's considered "first team" from what I can see? Sead Kolasinac released on a free, which does agree with what you are saying to be fair. Not sure if he was injured or what not, mind.
