Re: Football Titbits
Just for an added little note on this, the club apparently allowed it because they thought John Hall was just filming something about him. While his current views go beyond politics to f***ing abhorrent (black people aren't English, try telling that to the Andy Coles and Les Ferdinands that he signed), even if the club are giving him a bit of a pass for being old and important to the club they should certainly be scrutinising everything he wants to do there with a fine toothed comb. Not somehow letting sitting Tory MPs in with him by "mistake".Don Sholeone wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2024 8:00 pmAll football clubs need to stay politically neutral, something like this associates the club directly with a political party, not to mention the club is in a labour heartland with likely many labour aligned football fans, this potentially angers/alienates fans.Timshorts 2 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2024 7:53 pmI don't see that does us any harm. Perhaps we could ask kamala Harris over to do an interview with ant and Dec for balance.
But also like I said, even if this was a labour stunt, again you anger/alienate the non labour voters whom are also supporters.
Just keep the politics out of sport.

I see Karl Darlow was named in Welsh squad, ifirc he turned them down when with us.
I know he was having a decent season at the time and there were rumours he was on cusp of an English callup but it ultimately never happened.

Yeah - at most he might have got a lucky call-up as 3rd choice keeper in the past for England, but even that was pushing it. Does he even feature for Leeds ahead of Meslier?lassassinblanc wrote: ↑Mon Sep 02, 2024 7:53 amI see Karl Darlow was named in Welsh squad, ifirc he turned them down when with us.

Leicester win their appeal against a possible points deduction. Further evidence that the powers behind the PL are tinpot in every respect.

Re: Football Titbits
Getting relegated. As they ceased to be a member of the Premier League on 13th June but the Premier League were citing the accounts for finacial year ending 30th June. Leicester argued that as they were no longer part of the Premier League at the end of the accounting period the Premier League didn't have jurisdiction over them at that time.originallad wrote: ↑Tue Sep 03, 2024 8:27 pm'Reacting to its decision, the Premier League added: "If the Appeal Board is correct, its decision will have created a situation where any club exceeding the PSR threshold could avoid accountability in these specific circumstances'bodacious benny wrote: ↑Tue Sep 03, 2024 8:18 pmLeicester win their appeal against a possible points deduction. The callous way the PL acts towards to EFL it's quite apt this was the result.

You wonder what the EFL might do if they're relegated this season?

The PLs reaction tells everything you need to know about how backwards and corrupt the whole thing is. I'd have loved for our case to have gone to court over the blocking of the takeover. There is a reason they s*** their arseholes out soon as they got told everything they did behind the scenes would be made public.

The PL is a cowboy outfit that make it up and change the rules as they go along.

Re: Football Titbits
Leased till 2097, but we need 70k plus capacity not 60k which is hugely unlikely/impossible at sjp so snap back to reality, (ope there goes gravity) ... Ultimately we've grown out of sjp and need to build a new stadium, hopefully I live long enough to see the bloody thing.
