Watching Sky sports on MNF and cannot believe the platform they are giving Potter to sell himself as the next great PL manager in waiting.
Absolutely cringeworthy with Carragher and that host clown.
It’s almost like what will you do with Southampton when Martin is binned

Celtic really are an absolute bag of w***
Stick WBA in the SPL and they’d absolutely walk it.

Some success for Man C in their challenge over associated party sponsorship rules (this is separate to the 115 charges against them).
Not sure what it means for us, but apparently the rules introduced in February will be getting removed (whatever the latest rules put in place to hold us back were?).
We gave testimony in favour of City's case, as did Everton and a few others.

Reading a bit more, the PL are/were in breach of UK competition law - essentially confirming what we all knew. The PL made up rules as they went along and implemented them. I think the club can feel pretty aggrieved that they've not been allowed to generate revenue for the club because of a rule that was made up on the spot to stifle the competition. We should sue them.
The Leicester ruling also shows how farcical the rules are and what a mess the whole thing is. Another case of on appeal, Leicester won as the PL just made up rules as they went.

I don't necessarily disagree, but I also am not willing to give benefit of the doubt to the front office yet that they would have been more effective in commercial development. It's not even like the rule uniquely would have impacted us, every top club can leverage sketchy sponsorships from their shareholders to prop up their accounts - it just happens to be that PIF has their fingers in nearly every pie, but don't think Ineos, Clearlake Capital or others won't similarly benefit from rolling back that new loophole.bodacious benny wrote: ↑Mon Oct 07, 2024 4:36 pmReading a bit more, the PL are/were in breach of UK competition law - essentially confirming what we all knew. Rumours Greek FA asked for game to be postponed but English FA refused

I read it was uefa due to a “busy calendar”, which is true is complete ****. Money put before people, just cancel the pointless game if needs must.lassassinblanc wrote: ↑Thu Oct 10, 2024 8:54 pmVery sad great tribute from Greece tonight for him.bodacious benny wrote: ↑Thu Oct 10, 2024 6:44 amhttps://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/ar ... 9v5px2nd1o

Re: Football Titbits
The uefa rule is if both teams agree then they will consider most likely do it, from what I've heard the English FA brought up schedule and fatigue for players if the game was to be moved.bodacious benny wrote: ↑Fri Oct 11, 2024 5:16 amI read it was uefa due to a “busy calendar”, which is true is complete ****. Would have been moved most likely to November.

Re: Football Titbits
If I was a cynical man I'd suggest if that request did happen it might be partly related to a couple of injuries they had, but I'm not that bad. I do think it's a tricky one, both players and fans will have travelled by the time the news came out, and he hadn't been in the squad since an injury last season. I can understand them wanting to get the game on and you'd have to say it was a nice tribute.

Unfulfilled potential on the field sadly, must have a good rep for man c to be after him off the fieldlassassinblanc wrote: ↑Fri Oct 11, 2024 10:42 amHugo Viana in line to replace Txiki Begiristain as Director of football at Man City when he steps down

Re: Football Titbits
Seems to be highly thought of. Could also be similar to when they brought in Begiristain in in the first place - getting a DoF in place ahead of time for the manager they want. In this case, potentially Amorin who has been brought in as manager by Viana before. Another more recent example being Ralf Rangnick being appointed at Man U ahead of bringing his old friend and colleague Ten Haag as long term manager. Perhaps somewhat less successful than the Txiki/Pep double act haha.bodacious benny wrote: ↑Fri Oct 11, 2024 12:35 pmUnfulfilled potential on the field sadly, must have a good rep for man c to be after him off the fieldlassassinblanc wrote: ↑Fri Oct 11, 2024 10:42 amHugo Viana in line to replace Txiki Begiristain as Director of football at Man City when he steps down

Longstaff is on the latest the rest is football podcast, doesn’t say anything earth-shattering but good to hear his thoughts and experiences on different things.

Re: Football Titbits
Mourinho tonight after the game….he's so plastic Hollywood, he’s such a drama Queen, it’s often tiresome, but irrespective …. he still has a very real bizarre box office aura about him.
He knows how to “play the game”
Not done too bad overall with all due respect to translators everywhere.

Chelsea playing in Europe last night gives us no advantage at all seen as they made 11 changes and left most of their league starters at home
