Re: Summer Transfer Rumours/Wishlist 22/23
Wonder what it means for Joao Pedro deal.
I will say of course until the player is at St James Park holding the jerseys I'll hold my breath.
But sky now reporting it too so must be true
I'll Hazard a guess

Apparently £63m is the fee, is that sensible spending? What do people think?

I think it's spending that says we don't want to wait another year to build. It strikes me as we can have a go at the top 6 spending. Which without back up to Wilson you're basically waiting on him to get injured (may already be out for some time) and then kissing goodbye. Perhaps with the big teams misfiring early doors the board have gone, right what's our biggest potential weakness (Wilson injury) lets get another top class striker in and have a go.

I think it might be like Jan, we wanted to hold off but injuries and inability to get cheaper options forced our handCaptain Obvious wrote: ↑Wed Aug 24, 2022 12:44 pmI think it's spending that says we don't want to wait another year to build. Very under the radar-ish. Guessing Pedro is a no go then? Or maybe both?

He's one that has always been on the list, as mentioned previously we'll definitely see more movement come the last 10 days of the window, as Colback says we've been perhaps a little cautious over the last few weeks and perhaps didn't want to over commit too early but perhaps needs must we've decided to go for this one. 1) As we need backup to Wilson 2) we wanted to beat the potential deadline rushDon Sholeone wrote: ↑Wed Aug 24, 2022 1:27 pmVery under the radar-ish. As other thread stats we still seem to be in for Pedro too.
Double Friday Announcement???
I'll Hazard a guess
Re: Isak Incoming? ~£60m deal agreed
I think will get both I see more Pedro more as an attacking midfielder it's a player that hold the ball etc...I'm very excited for Isak Arsenal wanted him last January, he is fast, nice finishing nice technique young and still room to improve
I also expect a RW on loan or DMF

I bought him on FM in Jan 2022 for £60m... My crystal ball says he's going to score 68 goals over the next couple of seasons on the way to winning the league in 2024

I know there were rumours about a month ago but this has come completely out of the blue. Love it when this sort of things happens, proves that most of the time, the journos know f*** all!
