Re: Transfer Rumours/Wishlist
You're probably not wrong, but I do wish we had a CM with more defensive capabilities. Don't get me wrong, all of our CMs have tackling in their locker, but I think last season highlighted how vulnerable the CBs were without someone more dedicated to protecting the space in front of them. Maybe those issues were a product of Joelinton and Tonali's unavailability, but I still fear we need a proper CDM.NoteToSelf wrote: ↑Wed Jul 03, 2024 7:15 amFor centre mid, with Tonali, Guimaraes, Joelinton, Willock, Miley and Longstaff, surely one would have to go before bringing in another Central Midfielder.Timshorts 2 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2024 9:17 pmI like that schouten in DM for netherlands. Tidy, and wants to play the ball forwards. With psv, so it's possible and shouldn't break the bank.
However, if he can play at Centre back it could be a canny succession pick for Schär.

I had to look it up, but it actually is American, and started in La Crosse, Wisconsin, meant to be pronounced like the St. Croix river between Wisconsin and Minnesota.

I think the joke was just that with the player's last name being Lacroix, we could target them as a valuable sponsor in the US.lassassinblanc wrote: ↑Thu Jul 04, 2024 4:17 pmOK I assumed you meant the player was from US

That seems a bit cheap for a player of his quality, although he has had his injury issues. Affiliated clubs in Saudi also been linked.

Is he not an LW? My knowledge of him only comes from the national team though.

Aye, transfer market says right footed left winger. On FM he can play all across the threeOver The Line wrote: ↑Fri Jul 05, 2024 8:41 amIs he not an LW? My knowledge of him only comes from the national team though.

I wonder why very few Italians have come to / fully flourished in the PL.

He plays all across the front line, kind of what we've been looking for ie that versatile forward injury history is a bit of a concern would say wages would be a bit tooOver The Line wrote: ↑Fri Jul 05, 2024 8:41 amIs he not an LW? My knowledge of him only comes from the national team though.

Apparently not been the same since a big injury, according to my Italian barber anyway
Only time I've watched him is years ago v England where he was their best player, played on the right then too.
Would prefer a left footer, but if we can get in him and then eventually another (similar to our great options on the left) then that would be great squad options long term. E.g. if we got Mbuemo in too, and then he covers striker depth as well

Rumours picking up we are close for Neto from Wolves. Great player but hamstrings made of cheese strings.
Not sure why after the injury hit season we have had, we'd be looking at Neto and DCL. Our medical team doesn't exactly give me confidence we can keep these players fit.
