Scenes looked great from Trafalgar Square last night. Had been tempted to head in as only a half hour from my house but spent the day cooking and was under orders from mrsOT that I was to stay in given I'm the one who invited her family around for the match and can't be too hungover.

Off to Carlisle in the morning and still under strict instructions not to get too drunk. If we win; she'll have to carry me to the train station in the morning <laugh>

Making the pilgrimage to the North East from York, plenty of Toon fans I'm the bar and on the platforms going both north and south.

My mrs isnt from a footballing family but even she understands that I might not be able to take our little boy out tomorrow for a walk/nap <laugh>

I'm only 29 but vividly remember 1999, would love some revenge today! It's just great to see so many people out and about in the colours

Beginning to get just a tad excited now.

2-1 Toon, won't need extra-time.

I'm still absurdly grumpy about the ticket fiasco (made worse by the fact my brother on Friday blagged a ridiculously good ticket with entry to the Hilton after party thanks to one of his former Sunday league team being Graeme Jones nephew), but now sitting on the train to Toon with a bit of optimism. We missed out on most of the obvious venues, so we're watching it in a gay cabaret club who apparently have the biggest screen in town. Could be interesting.

I think if we have an absolute stinker I can be very sympathetic today, the occasion just feels massive and the the players are probably feeling huge pressure. Win or lose I think everyone will appreciate the moment regardless. It doesn't feel like an opportunity for just a trophy, it feels like the beginning of something. Hopefully the lads can bring it home, but I'm just grateful I get to see us in a final again, something I genuinely thought I'd never get to see in my lifetime again and I'm only in my 30s. That might sound a tad extreme but the expectation dropped well into the abyss under the last regime, I'd given up all hope of us ever getting close winning something.

I know I never post these days but wanted to hop and say enjoy the game all!

We've waited what feels like, and for some will be an actual lifetime for this.

Cannot remember the last time I was this nervous. Think I might need a fortifying drink ... or two ... or three!
