Didn't it happen before v Mexico (or at least it was in the pipeline)?

Re: Academy, NUFCW and Behind the scenes
Doesn’t bother me one bit about the game, many other nations have held matches in the U.K. when it’s been two random international teams. But I’ve got no interest as international football is of zero interest to me!

As you'll all know I'm one of the more cynical anti-Saudi members on here, both the takeover in general and projecting their image onto ours (the kit arguments etc). This doesn't bother me one bit though, very easy to avoid and while international football does interest me (I'm off to the Euros next summer) Saudi v Costa Rica feels like a game you've won tickets for in a raffle and can't get rid of...

If I lived nearby, wasn't doing anything, the weather was nice, it was a pound a pint and tickets were free I'd think about it!

£5 adults. Still overpriced for me.

Newcastle United Women's opening league fixture of the season on Sunday has been postponed after the visitors, Halifax Women, informed the club and the FA Women's National League (FAWNL) that they would be unable to fulfil the fixture

LOANS
Yankuba Minteh (Feyenoord):
At 2-0 down the Feyenoord manager made a 66th min triple substitution which turned the game around, Minteh one of the subs thought he'd scored 3 mins after coming on but unfortunately he was offside.
the game ended 2-2
Harrison Ashby (Swansea City):
Played for 82mins in a 1-1 v Coventry.
seems he's starting to find his feet and i'll post more forum thoughts in a few weeks time.
Jamal Lewis (Watford):
Not in the matchday squad
Max Thompson (Northampton Town):
Kept a clean sheet in a 1-0 win over Peterborough
Kelland Watts (Wigan Athletic):
Played the full match in an impressive 4-0 rout of Bolton away
Matty Bondswell (Newport County):
Came on in the 79 minute in a 3-0 home win against Forest Green Rovers
Garang Kuol (FC Volendam):
After playing 20 minutes last week he was left out of the match day squad this week, with head coach Matthias Kohler saying
“We have to be patient with him. That is simply the case with a young player who comes from a foreign competition. We will see to what extent and for how long he can be used against Go Ahead.”
Academy
U21s
Newcastle Utd 1-4 Spurs
Goal: Huntley
U18s
Newcastle Utd 3-5 Derby County
Goals: Neave, Brayson, Palmer
So nothing seemed to go right for any of our teams this weekend as NUWFC game was postponed

Newcastle United have confirmed the addition of Kamil Potrykus to their recruitment department. The 38-year-old worked as assistant manager of the Poland national team between February and December last year.
Potrykus confirmed his move to Newcastle United and the responsibilities he will undertake whilst at the club. Potrykus wrote: ‘At present, my primary responsibility at Newcastle United involves actively supporting the recruitment department in the selection of players for the first-team level.'

It's the way of the world, while I agree I despise both getting promoted they'll bring in some much needed revenue

Re: Academy, NUWFC and Behind the scenes
Are there any PL clubs who don’t have prominent gambling sponsorship? Whenever you watch a game on tv it’s all you see, and then at HT all the gambling company adverts with their laughable attempts to say “make sure you don’t spend too much” when really they want to take as much money as possible from as many people as possible.

Luton rejected any gambling sponsors and partnered with The Big Step. They're probably the only ones though, and as fans we shouldn't be shrugging it off as "that's life". Villa's supporters trust condemned their new deal, I'd love to get some action from ours occasionally, and the comments responding to our announcement on Twitter show that fans are getting sick of it.Bodacious Benny wrote: ↑Thu Aug 24, 2023 11:27 amAre there any PL clubs who don’t have prominent gambling sponsorship? Minteh is looking like fantastic business. Doing it in a decent league and getting CL experience too. Just need Kuol to start kicking on now.
