Matchday thread - Toon v Spurs
High Noon showdown, well 2 o'clock anyway, in the battle for Champions League football.
Following a trio of games on the road, Eddie Howe's side return to the familiar surroundings of St. James' Park for a Premier League meeting with Spurs on Sunday.
It's a 2pm kick-off live on Sky Sports and a sell out.
Following a 2-1 success in North London in October, Newcastle are seeking their first PL win double over Spurs since 2015/16. The season-closing 5-1 victory on Tyneside remains our last home win over them.
NUFC: Allan Saint-Maximin remains out.
Footage from Wednesday's training session confirmed that Miggy Almiron was involved, showing no reaction after his return from injury against Aston Villa. Also going through his paces was Sean Longstaff.
Following his U21 debut on Monday, full back Harrison Ashby was with the senior squad on Wednesday.
Coral rate this game as follows:
NUFC win 17/20
Any draw 13/5
THFC win 13/4
HT draw, FT NUFC 18/5
THFC: Lucas Moura is suspended while Rodrigo Bentancur, Clement Lenglet, Emerson Royal, Ryan Sessegnon and Yves Bissouma are out injured. Ben Davies is doubtul.
A win, a draw and a defeat for interim boss Cristian Stellini in his first three games in charge, following the departure of Antonio Conte.
On the road in the Premier League this season, Spurs have won five, drawn five and lost five. They've failed to win any of their last six games away from home in all competitions (four in the PL only).
Referee: David Coote - a rapid reappearance for the Nottinghamshire official who took charge of February's Carabao Cup Final defeat at Wembley Stadium.
This will be his first appointment at SJP since a 3-1 PL victory over Burnley back in October 2020.

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Spurs
Their top three give me the fear when I look at our defence, but that apart it’s about us imposing ourselves on them
Thrilling 2-1 for us
Thrilling 2-1 for us

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Spurs
That front three of Son, Kane and Kluvasiiani is dangerous but think we can control and out battle/fight them in midfield and our defence is better/more solid. Can see it being tight, nervy n gritty in the first half.. can't see it being too high-scoring.. I'll go for a 1-1 draw. Murphy to score and Kane pen to equalise late on.
