Can just imagine him straining a calf or hamstring in his first match - especially given our luck this season.

I like it. Probably getting a points deduction anyway so might as well try to sign a load of players to counter balance the loss of points.

Won't they just end up breaching it again next year though and get another points deduction like what's going to happen with Everton?

Surely they got to do something about it at some point u less they want to be 10 points down every season.

Dunno, reckon Man City would still win the title most years with a -10 handicap.

I can't remember if it was reddit or 606 but some supporters wrote him a card because he was playing s***. Wouldn't get that happening now :bandit:

Just came to post this too. First impression suggests fans here have tempered expectations, but think it's at least worth a roll of the dice if he can get back after this ACL injury. Has apparently be trialing with TFC - so they'll have a sense of his fitness. Hope the club can turn it around, they've really lost a lot of support over the past few years with a series of bad front office, coaching and player hires.

His career has really tanked massively, even pre-injury he had some poor loan spells at a pretty low level of football and struggled. Not sure if it’s attitude or something else. Maybe a fresh start somewhere completely new will do him good.

I hope he brings more Geordie magic to Toronto than Carver did as manager...supporters here complaining about recent managerial hires must have a short memory if they forget his abominable tenure.

Makes his attempt at getting a big contract even more silly now. Think he potentially damaged a lot of relations within the club and probably made a bad name for himself. That whole saga did change my option of him.

Pretty sure the club took care of him through his rehab even after his contract ran out. I think them not extending his contract had a lot more to do with him not demonstrating he's good enough to deserve one, and less to do with it being anything personal or related to any past negotiations.

Yeah he's been training and rehabbing with the club throughout his free agency, I don't think he's gone on bad terms. I think he'll do a job at Toronto, he looked a really promising player but had it curtailed through a combination of bad loans and Steve Bruce.

Probably harsh on Bruce to be fair. He did give him a fair crack, I think it's more a case of him just not being good enough for PL, I think if he gets back on track after his injury then MLS/Championship is probably a level he could make a decent go at.

Sean's on record as basically saying Bruce completely stunted his development, it's hardly a stretch to suggest that applies to other players.
