Saint-Maximin set to leave - Saudi bound?
Doesn't look like Maxi will be here much longer.
Shame but at least now I trust everyone at the club to make decisions in what they believe to be the clubs best interests.

It's a shame but maybe suits all involved. He just can't stay fitOver The Line wrote: ↑Tue Jul 18, 2023 10:44 amDoesn't look like Maxi will be here much longer.

Feels strange saying this considering the season before this he played more minutes than anyone else. 2800ish to Joelinton in second place with 2500ish.Colback's Orange Tufts wrote: ↑Tue Jul 18, 2023 10:57 amIt's a shame but maybe suits all involved. Re: Transfer Rumours/Wishlist
I feel its linked to the higher intensity. Under Bruce he could pick and choose when to apply himself and save his muscles. But doesn't work in a pressing system.Over The Line wrote: ↑Tue Jul 18, 2023 12:02 pmFeels strange saying this considering the season before this he played more minutes than anyone else. 2800ish to Joelinton in second place with 2500ish.Colback's Orange Tufts wrote: ↑Tue Jul 18, 2023 10:57 am

Tend to agree - I feel an inability to stay fit is overblown for him. He'd even have had a lot more minutes this past season if they didn't decide to rely on him more as a sub for the second half once back to health. Now if they thought he couldn't play more than that without reaggravating his injury - that's another story.Over The Line wrote: ↑Tue Jul 18, 2023 12:02 pmFeels strange saying this considering the season before this he played more minutes than anyone else. 2800ish to Joelinton in second place with 2500ish.Colback's Orange Tufts wrote: ↑Tue Jul 18, 2023 10:57 am

To move forward we have to raise funds. I like ASM and he was one of the few bright sparks under the old regime, but times change and plans change.
Do I trust Howe? Absolutely.

I'm the scumbag outlaw. You're the pillar of justice. Neither of us like looking at ourselves in the mirror. Do we have a deal?

Re: Transfer Rumours/Wishlist
Just goes to show how serious we're taking the financial rules.
I look at other clubs spending near 100-200m a year and my only thought is they are digging themselves a hole.
Also calling it now there's going to be complaints for others that we sold a player to Saudi Arabia

Re: Transfer Rumours/Wishlist
But as we've seen with Everton and Chelsea no one cares about FFP. I still think it's just an excuse for us to stop fees for incoming players getting ridiculous.

The rumoured fee is around £25m. Feels cheap considering the fees that are flying around for other players.
Re: Saint-Maximin set to leave - Saudi bound?
It'll be a shame to see him go, but he's probably a great signing for the Saudi league (whichever side it is, Athletic says Al-Ahli, Downie says Al-Hilal) - he'll be able to thrive as an exciting big fish again.

Re: Saint-Maximin set to leave - Saudi bound?
Genuine shame, but I don't think he fits as a starter in our side and I've always felt he's not a great impact sub. Would have been very handy given the number of games we've got next season though so fingers crossed that squad place is filled by a Barnes rather than a Ritchie...
I'd prefer him to go to a decent league and try to prove himself though, make himself a star rather than the HBA cult type he is now.

Re: Transfer Rumours/Wishlist
Would be surprised if he went for so little when Neves went for 47m who was in the final year of his contract, not comparing the two as players but we should be getting close to that.Over The Line wrote: ↑Wed Jul 19, 2023 8:20 amThe rumoured fee is around £25m.
