Re: Tino Livramento Deal agreed
Evening everyone, I hope you’re keeping well. Here’s a short video detailing everything you need to know about Tino Livramento in under 3 minutes for those interested. This kid is a heck of a talent and I’m really looking forward to seeing how he gets on at St. James’ Park. As always, I’d be happy to answer any questions you may have, cheers!
Re: Tino Livramento Deal agreed
He is a good player but imo we overpaid a bit...Nonethless we bought the potential so it can explain the ''big'' fee

I can't see how the club can talk about us being restricted by FFP when we are just outright overpaying for players we don't really need. The lad is obviously talented but talk of upwards of £40m for him is pretty absurd when there are more important areas to address.

We do need someone in that position. What if Trippier gets injured? We've got Manquillo/Krafth who aren't good enough / been injured for a year.Don Sholeone wrote: ↑Thu Aug 03, 2023 3:05 pmI can't see how the club can talk about us being restricted by FFP when we are just outright overpaying for players we don't really need. I've read some things that he can play LB too if needed.

I too find it odd. We need a centre back much more than full back.

Yes, but Lascelles (or Burn) coming in at CB is stronger than Manquillo/Krafth coming in at RB IMO.Colback's Orange Tufts wrote: ↑Thu Aug 03, 2023 3:28 pmI too find it odd. We need a centre back much more than full back.
But agree we do need a better quality CB for cover / first team.

Re: Tino Livramento Deal agreed
Disagree with this one, especially at RCB where Burn would be out of place and Lascelles nowhere near good enough. Neither Manquillo or Krafth give you what Trippier does in terms of influence, but both are good enough and the fact that both are still around is strange. Manquillo is surely going out?Bodacious Benny wrote: ↑Thu Aug 03, 2023 3:35 pmYes, but Lascelles (or Burn) coming in at CB is stronger than Manquillo/Krafth coming in at RB IMO.Colback's Orange Tufts wrote: ↑Thu Aug 03, 2023 3:28 pmI too find it odd. Burn and Lascelles coming in at CB are both stronger than Burn starting at LB (where I imagine Livramento will start for us)Bodacious Benny wrote: ↑Thu Aug 03, 2023 3:35 pmYes, but Lascelles (or Burn) coming in at CB is stronger than Manquillo/Krafth coming in at RB IMO.Colback's Orange Tufts wrote: ↑Thu Aug 03, 2023 3:28 pmI too find it odd. Sky saying the fee is £32m

Slightly weird lineup. Albert's goal against Man Utd was excellent but probably not worth that much of a restructure.
Re: Tino Livramento Deal agreed
Personally I thik Maquillo is decent. Cant remember him ever having a stand out bad game. Is he noticably worse than Burn/Targett at LB, who are our starters?Bodacious Benny wrote: ↑Thu Aug 03, 2023 3:16 pmWe do need someone in that position. What if Trippier gets injured? LB is by far the easiest spot in the starting 11 to make a large improvent, and if we dont, im going to be at least a little disappointed with the window
Re: Tino Livramento Deal agreed
Previously I would have agreed with this, but he was brilliant when he came in against City last season. Very small sample size but everybody else has improved under actual coaching.Colly wrote: ↑Thu Aug 03, 2023 4:41 pmDisagree with this one, especially at RCB where Burn would be out of place and Lascelles nowhere near good enough. I do think it’s a lot, but if his injury is behind him he can be absolutely class. Can learn from Trippier and has the pace our back line lacks.

Re: Tino Livramento Deal agreed
Good signing, I get the worry over the price and his recent injury.
Though what I will say is 1) cruciate injuries aren't as career changing as they once were due to advancements in sports science yes it's a horrible injury but it's no longer a career ending injury 2) He passed his medical so if there were any issues with said knee he wouldn't have.
In terms of the fee yeah it's high but there is definitely some English tax on that. Same with what we paid for Gordon and Barnes

I'll Hazard a guess
Re: Tino Livramento Deal agreed
Still find an odd one, can see him, Trippier or Manquillo playing left back at times this season. If you include Ashby that's 5 right backs.
