He shouldn't need taking Gordon or Tonali off

Take off Bruno & Almiron

Gordon was our best player
What the f*** was he taking Tonali off??? Like wtaf. He is the glue

Too many players heads have gone.
Bruno has been poor and no where near his level
Almiron is weak and predictable just now
Need a reset and get back to doing the simple things quickly and efficiently
Eddie needs to think about his messaging with the subs etc. That was overly dramatic with three switches. Spread uncertainty and panic !
That was a surrender today , mentally out to lunch.
Not good enough

Imagine Botman is out for a bit…

That was awful game management and end product was dire.

We should have absolutely dicked them but that was an awful awful awful 2nd half.

If that Miggy wonder goal had gone in. Then it was game over. But it didn't. Didn't look like scoring the whole of the 2nd half

Howe had a f***ing nightmare there as he always does against Liverpool. First league game I can remember under him where we’ve underperformed all over the pitch

We had a lot of chances to win.

Miggy had a goal denied by a great save, hit the post and then totally fluffed one shot. He could have tried a shot himself but opted to pass it and play broke down.

Barnes should been selfish and taken the shot rather than try to find Wilson.

We didn't play to our full strength in the last 45 and lost the midfield battle, didn't take the chances well enough and were sucker punched twice.

As well as we’ve done last season there still seems to be a mental block when we play against the “big sides”.

Liverpool beat us twice last season and today.

We got 1 point from city in the last 3 games.

1 point from arsenal last season.

To make the next leap we need to start winning games like this.

Obvs good wins last season v Spurs and a home win against Man U, but we definitely don’t seem to play the same in a lot of these games.

I haven't been this angry watching Newcastle in a while. That's testement to Howe and the team the last 18 months. But this really hurts. Against Liverpool who I can't stand and Klopp the whinging wanker.

Last season we got outplayed by Villa and lost 3 nil. I could take that.

This loss is different. We were outplaying them, we scored and then they went down to 10 men. We should have put them to the sword but didn't. That second half was abysmal.

My concern today was with the subs. Not just the players taken off, but more that Howe just seems to replace like for like. No desire to change tactics/formation so Plan B is essentially Plan A with different players, who clearly aren't as good otherwise they would have been part of Plan A.

Second half was poor and the mentality just didn't seem right. It was like we didn't believe we could go at them and finish them off.

Absolutely hate playing Liverpool

Oh well .

We know we're not going to win the league with this side . Emphasis has to be on bedding in the new players... and building.

Aim should be top 4 again this term

- a lot of very good sides this year, imo - and I think every one of the top 8 teams will lose 5+ games as they take points off each other

Like to see more of Anderson - like Gordon and Isak he has the look of somebody willing to take a run at defenders.... and make something happen.

Not quite the End of the world....

Hope Botman is OK -

.....it looked like he jarred his knee on landing - so hopefully just a bad knock rather than a ligament issue

Well, let’s be positive I guess.

Last season: Liverpool (h), Villa (h), Man C (a) = 3 points.

This season: Liverpool (h), Villa (h), Man C (a) = 3 points.

Expecting a chaotic shambles of a game with dodgy refereeing from John Brooks , too young for a game like this.
Expect a dodgy 1-2 score line with lots of seethe following very bias Liverpool minded officiating

Plan for the worst and hope for the best

In theory, but hardly any time til the window closes, don’t know who’s available, and if it’s at a price / deal structure that we can do.

Mighty accelerate Hall’s route in at LB and Burn moving in to CB.

Was going to post this myself but also mention the all important goal difference is better this season.

I dont think I can take any positives out of today. Their 2 goals coming down our left just makes me think what If Hall our £30m new LB had been on the bench at least and had fresh legs down that side to come on, I like Target but really wasn't what we needed on the bench today. Then that also makes me think, why did we spend so much on Livramento to not even get a sniff beyond a short cameo this last 3 games. £60m worth of players not involved today. Yet we will spout about FFP consistently. Barnes another wad of cash and Miggy still there for every minute. ASM sale was justified by Barnes having superior production numbers, but him and Gordon have to play second fiddle to a toothless Almiron. Everything about today has been so frustrating.

There may be an element of livramento being eased in, which is fair. He was out with a serious injury for a year.

Hall literally only signed a few days ago so again is understandable.

I’d like to see more of Barnes. The issue is that Gordon has been arguably our best player this season. Do we shift him to the right to accommodate Barnes? It would be pointless putting Barnes on the right as his entire game is cutting in on his right to shoot.

Isak I thought was pretty poor today, we might see Wilson get a start soon.

Honking way to lose a game but reaction to it
feels a bit knee jerk. All boiled down to being clinical as Nunez showed. On another day might have won 4-0 but should have been game, set and match after VVD’s red

Definitely some sort of complex when it comes to playing Liverpool. Third game in a row vs them we’ve come away feeling robbed.

More annoyed by our naivety in the market not buying another CB now seemingly coming back to bite us in the arse. Regardless of the severity we need another centre back before the window closes.
