Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Man U
I think we’ll lose 2-0, their reserve/rotated squad will be stronger than what we can field.

With our injuries I can't see how we win this. Very intrigued to see what our team will be though.

I imagine it'll be similar to the City game in defence.
No idea who will play up front.
1-0 loss unfortunately.

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Man U
With Arsenal and Dortmund coming up we definitely can’t risk Wilson. Wouldn’t be surprised if Isak is out for a while, as is usually the case when Howe has made it sound quite minor.
Gordon is our only real choice to play as a striker, he got a rest over the international break too. No idea who plays on the right with Murphy injured and Almiron needing a rest. Could maybe stick Ritchie or Krafth at RB and play Livramento a bit further forward.

Neither side feeling confident and it's understandable. We've suffered a slight dip in form but I think considering the injuries we've still done incredibly well.originallad wrote: ↑Wed Nov 01, 2023 3:06 pmhttps://www.redcafe.net/matches/manches ... 533/page-5
They don't seem very confident.
They have more depth than us and being at home you'd expect them to be favourites... but I didn't feel confident about the City game and we got thru. Who knows. HWTL!

Some er, interesting rotation there. It'll be fun. Looking like Hall starting in midfield which is curious, as I did wonder if he'd be deployed to fill in the Tonali gap short term. Supposedly his preferred position.
I live just outside Manc and was invited out to a man u supporting pub with man u supporting mates. I stayed in and made stew. Looking forward to it all the same haha.

Don't expect any chemistry or fluidity from that lot of randomly assembled squad members, but maybe just maybe they'll have enough intensity trained into them to smash and grab a win from Man U's less rotated squad.

Chicken with potatoes, broccoli, carrots and cauliflower. Chilli and garlic for flavour. I'm no great cook, but I do make a banging stew. I tend to make one mid week after work, for various reasons. So far this season made a stew the same nights we played Milan and PSG. Didn't for Dortmund as went out for tea instead. If we win tonight I'll make a stew for every midweek game rest of the season

This regarding chemistry and fluidity. I think it was in the FA Cup last season when we lost against Sheff Wed where we played Lewis, Ritchie etc. Pretty much the whole team just looked liked they'd never played football before.Remember Colo wrote: ↑Wed Nov 01, 2023 7:52 pmDon't expect any chemistry or fluidity from that lot of randomly assembled squad members, but maybe just maybe they'll have enough intensity trained into them to smash and grab a win from Man U's less rotated squad.
