Great result, but less than convincing performance.
And ffs Howe play Livromento or Hall instead of Burn!

Good win on the road
Nowhere near a polished performance but a good mentality and cleared our lines well in the last 15 minutes
Bruno kept his head

Didn't know that was our 4th away win in a row! Last time we did that Sir Bobby was in charge.

The difference with one game a week is you can play below par and win. If that game was in December we’d have lost. Massive game next week to build on this after dropping points in our last few home games.

For all his dodginess as a full back when attacked with a bit of pace, he cleared out about 90% of those long throws that forest were chucking in, so much so that by the second half they weren't in the slightest bit worrying.originallad wrote: ↑Sat Feb 10, 2024 7:30 pmBarnes needs to start next match. Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Forest
Exactly why he should be the third choice CB, instead of the first choice LB. He has good defensive skills - just ones suited to a CB and often wasted as a FB.Timshorts 2 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 10, 2024 8:23 pmFor all his dodginess as a full back when attacked with a bit of pace, he cleared out about 90% of those long throws that forest were chucking in, so much so that by the second half they weren't in the slightest bit worrying.originallad wrote: ↑Sat Feb 10, 2024 7:30 pmBarnes needs to start next match. Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Forest
Second half Burn did okay, whether that was down to him improving his positioning or the opposition tiring I don’t know (some of their players played a full match + extra time in midweek) who knows. But in the first half he was woeful. Absolutely rinsed for their first goal and could easily have conceded another when Elanga just wandered past him. It’s no use playing him because he can clear crosses if you concede regularly down our left due to a lack of pace.
