Matchday thread - Toon v 'ammers
Newcastle return to Premier League action following the international break when the Hammers provide the opposition at St. James' Park on Saturday.
It's a 12.30pm kick-off on TNT Sports.
Team: Sandro Tonali, Nick Pope, Callum Wilson, Joelinton and Sven Botman are out, with Lewis Miley the latest injury victim reporting back an unspecified problem sustained on England U20 duty.
Speaking on Friday, Eddie Howe was hopeful that Harvey Barnes, Kieran Trippier and Tino Livramento would all be involved on Saturday.
The Magpies boss confirmed that Martin Dubravka was available despite leaving the Slovakia squad before their game against Norway on Tuesday.
The threat of a two-match PL suspension remains for Bruno Guimaraes, who is on nine bookings. Anthony Gordon is two bookings from suffering the same fate. The cut-off point to avoid a ban is 32 games - Saturday will be our 29th.
Tonali rates this game as follows:
NUFC win 17/20
The draw 29/10
WHUFC win 29/10
WHUFC: Edson Alverez is suspended and Maxwel Cornet, Mohammed Kudus, Nayef Aguerd and Lucas Paqueta are all rated as doubtful.
The Hammers arrive unbeaten in their most recent four PL games but winless in two, having drawn with both Aston Villa and Burnley at the London Stadium.
On the road this season, David Moyes has guided his side to six wins, two draws and six defeats. They've posted just one clean sheet during those fourteen games - rather improbably away to Arsenal.
UK TV: Live on TNT Sports
UK Radio: Live on talkSPORT

Referee: Robert Jones - a fourth Toon appointment for the Merseysider so far this season, following on from the 0-1 PL loss at Manchester City and 1-0 PL home win over Manchester United, with the 0-3 League Cup success at Old Trafford in between.
VAR: David Coote

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v 'ammers
Stuck in work for this one, not sure whether that's a good or a bad thing
Both teams having similar up and down seasons, both with some quality match winners in the team on their day.
Both could really benefit with winning this to help their push for Europe, so the result screams a draw.
Having said that, they're best on the counter, which is what were worst against. So if we press high this match we'll probably lose

This season has undoubtedly been the worst I've ever known for injuries. Crazy.

Our defending has gone to s***. Obviously doesn't help with Lascelles coming off but our defense was s*** before this match anyway.

From what I've heard that is a shocker from the ref.
Re: Matchday thread - Toon v 'ammers
Not sure if the rules state the game needs to be stopped for Schar to receive treatment - it was hardly a clash of heads.
