Matchday thread - Toon v Toffees
Please, please don't lose this one!
The Toffees provide the opposition to Eddie Howe's side in the Premier League at SJP on Tuesday.
It's a 7.30pm start, live on TNT Sports.
Team: Anthony Gordon is suspended while Jamaal Lascelles is the latest addition to the missing list that already comprises of Sandro Tonali, Nick Pope, Callum Wilson, Joelinton, Sven Botman and Lewis Miley.
There are injury doubts over Miguel Almiron and Tino Livramento following Saturday's epic victory over West Ham at SJP, while the availability of Kieran Trippier and Matt Targett is yet to be determined.
Tonali rates this match as follows:
NUFC win 20/21
The draw 27/10
EFC win 13/5
EFC: Lewis Dobbin, Arnaut Danjuma Groeneveld and Dele Alli remain out but Vitalii Mykolenko may return.
Ahead of their visit to Tyneside, Sean Dyche's side lost 1-2 at Bournemouth on Saturday - their third straight defeat extending a winless PL run since mid-December 2023 to 12 games.
Among the visiting staff is former Newcastle coach, Steve Stone.
UK TV: Live on TNT Sports
UK Radio: Live on talkSPORT 2
Referee: Tony Harrington - a first Magpies game of the season for the Cleveland-based whistler.
We last saw him in the corresponding home game last season, a 1-0 win over the Toffees in October 2022.
VAR: Michael Salisbury

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Toffees
I'm hoping that our starting 11 will still be strong enough to beat these at home... the West Ham game on Saturday will have been a massive confidence boost and Everton have another long away trip in the space of 4 days which hopefully plays its part.
I've got a good record at games I've been to this season with the only loss being Dortmund (W5 D1 L1) so I'm hoping that's another good omen
HWTL!

Yup, with an absolutely overrated hopeless striker who has not scored in like forever netting tonight.originallad wrote: ↑Tue Apr 02, 2024 11:34 amThis has got a sneaky Everton win written all over it.

Yikes what a who's who of mediocrity on that bench. Credit to Bruno, I can't believe he's gone this long without another yellow. No excuse for him not displaying more discipline in the future - he's proven he can do it.

So far, so good and just have to keep going.
Causing them a lot of problems but we're still shaky in defence.
