Great finish by Watkins that... & England deserved it tbh.

Re: Euro 2024 chat
That was so much better. First half performance superb, and while the changes probably happened ten minutes later than they were needed at least he finally had the balls to do it. Brilliant from Watkins (especially after not connecting with that Shaw pass), and another great game from Mainoo.
Penalty was an awful decision, but given it's Koeman it's long overdue.

Re: Euro 2024 chat
nailed on penna for me like, a lunge at a player with studs showing would (or should) be a free kick anywhere else on the pitch, a good challenge maybe in kung fu but not in a football match..........great to witness an engerland performance which was so much more positive and clearly koeman had been sucked in by our previous shower of s****, must have thought we'd be a piss over, then the sudden realisation kicked in that his bunch of thugs were chasing shadows for the majority of the first half, mccoist ofcourse could not contain his excitement when the dutch scored, then "no way is that a penalty, "..sshut up yee scottish twit!
Bring on the spaniards and may the best team win..... (Dear Gareth, any chance of giving the young ginger lad a go at some point in the final?)

Re: Euro 2024 chat
I’m not sure where the mccoist bashing comes from, other than him being Scottish. He’s a good commentator and was fair in what he said. At no point last night did he come across as anti-England.
For me it wasn’t a penalty - the defender has to put his foot up to block the ball, and it was Kane who actually booted the defender. And the fact so many pundits disagreed showed it wasn’t a clear and obvious error so shouldn’t have gone for review.
That said, England were the better side overall and deserved the win, easily their best performance of the tournament.

Who was having a go at Ally? I thought everyone loved him. What he said was perfectly reasonable, imo.bodacious benny wrote: ↑Thu Jul 11, 2024 10:00 amI’m not sure where the mccoist bashing comes from, other than him being Scottish. And unlike so many on co-comms, he clearly loves football and loves being there. I hate the dour people.
I think he did enjoy the Dutch goal.. because it was a great shot and he loves great play. He talked about how good England were in stretches and how he'd enjoyed mixing with English fans

Easily their best performance for sure. But it wouldn't have taken much considering the shower of s**** that came before itbodacious benny wrote: ↑Thu Jul 11, 2024 10:00 amI’m not sure where the mccoist bashing comes from, other than him being Scottish. I don't know anyone who dislikes Ally McCoist, which bearing in mind he's Scottish and an ex-mackem is pretty good going. Still gutted we walked straight past him when we got to Villa away stupidly early last season and he was taking photos with fans before going up to the gantry.
His view on the penalty certainly wasn't an anti English thing (unless Gary Neville is suddenly Scottish too) and I'd rather have him on the final than Lee Dixon. Best co commentator on tv, makes even the shittest games watchable.

Re: Euro 2024 chat
McCoist is a half decent co comm and is entertaining because he can always see the funny side of the game and has a gsoh etc...but imo should not be doing England matches, probably for the same reason Shearer should not do Scotland matches (i'm sure we all witnessed the secret smirk to the camera when they went oot, like the cat that got the cream...naughty boy)
But it is there isn't it, tiny population of around 5m most wearing orange tops to match their orange wigs last night a fridge full of tennants ready to celebrate us being booted out by the Dutch.
Don't know if anyone on here can remember who co-commed on our league cup final last year...yes you guessed it Gary Neville, a guy who spent 20 years with our opponents making 400 apps, and shortly before kick off as the camera panned the toon fans he began banging on about the '99 cup final, saying Newcastle didnt turn up that day, and how him and his team mates couldn't beleive how easy it was and if a team makes it to a final at least try and win it blah blah...now you see that is typical of him to do that but it's not necessarily his fault, Sky should never have allowed him to co-comm that match due to his obvious bias, or they could have at least balanced it out by having a toon player sitting with him, ones theyve used in the past ginola, shay, big les.
However sorry to digress ...as for the penna last night, VAR clearly saw it the way i did Dumfries was leading with his studs as Kane attempted to shoot at goal, their was contact between Dumfries studs and Kanes shooting foot, there was no contact between Dumfries foot and the ball...PENALTY!
