Stoke fans opinions

I like this quote.
Best team we've seen at the Brit in my opinion
This on the other hand...
Whilst league position and points total don't show it, I actually think we have a better group of players at our disposal than Newcastle do.

I guess what I am saying is that we clearly have a mentality of survival whilst it wouldn't necessarily harm us if we "reached for the stars" occasionally.

Pulis is and will always be "happy to be here" and anything beyond survival with him is considered to be a bonus.

Let's hope we can get our form going because I always felt, even when they beat us, that we could and probably would finish above them this season. That doesn't seem likely anymore and much of that is because we have pissed about with our team.

Just a hint of bitterness after we spanked them I think.
And in conclusion, how far had you got through reading this before you realised it was my signature?

Can't stand Stoke. But to be honest the majority of their comments on that thread are positive and fair.

Opininons? Like it <laugh>

I hate Stoke, love that we spanked them, was probably our easiest game this season other than Man United.

Better players at their disposal?!!?
Maybe 3/4 Stoke players would get into our team if that.

Actual standard of players in the squad is not something I'd excpect a Stoke fan to try and argue. Yes they 'stick to their philosophy' and have a clear 'game plan' but in terms of actual ability they're a bottom half team.

I seem to recall that pundits and fans were saying Newcastle were 'in a false position' when they were fourth after a month or so, the same being said come November, apparently due to relatively easy fixtures (stretching it, I think that one).

They are still up there despite losing Ba to the African Nations. They are a good team to watch, especially with Ba, who has been sensational. I don't think he would have scored as many goals had he come to Stoke. Our system is much more rigid than Newcastle's. I wish he was with us (obviously) and really do hope his knee holds up as he is such a good player I wouldn't want him to be injured just to prove Stoke's medics were right.

Not sure where the Stoke hatred comes from, I think it's good that they got into Europe, much rather see them than the usual "top 4-6" every season. Pulis has got what is essentially a pub team into Europe, up until this year hadn't spent large sums of money. Yes I know they play hoofball but they're the kings of hoofball and it's works for them.
Hell of a lot more teams to hate before I get to Stoke anyway.

I never really had an opinion on them until this season, but the way they stole ground on throw ins and used just plain dirty tactics annoyed me. I mean everyone gains 3-4 yards on most throws, Stoke were gaining 10+ on most throws. Would go out on the halfwa line and Rory would be launching it in from 12 yards in our half.

Stoke really are to football what Danny Dyer is to acting.

Don't see what everyones problem is with Stoke. Their style of play may not be the prettiest but it works for them so whatever, would rather win playing like Stoke than lose playing like Wigan.

Think a lot of people went off Stoke because of their fans kicking off with ours in 95 and missles getting thrown at Raylor when we drew 1-1 there in the relegation season.
