Other Clubs' Transfer Rumours/Deals (Winter 14/15)
Re: Other Clubs' Transfer Rumours/Deals (Winter 14/15)
It's abundantly clear that Mangala has the tools to be one of the best centre backs in the division. Most of his errors have been due to him struggling to adapt to the pace of the league, he'll be excellent next season.

Shaqiri joins Inter Milan
Would have thought he'd go to Tottenham or Arsenal or somewhere thereabouts...

He's already playing a lot better than he was at first. It's clear he has all the tools to adapt, unlike somebody like MYM who never actually looked comfortable.Heisen wrote:It's abundantly clear that Mangala has the tools to be one of the best centre backs in the division. But how many games did Mbiwa actually have in his favoured centre back position? He only had 37 PL apps total, and I recall that many of them were sub appearances and also appearances in the full back position where he indeed never looked comfortable.ALF wrote:He's already playing a lot better than he was at first. I also recall some stats where, out of all of the CB partnerships we've had, Mbiwa was part of the one with the best minutes per goal conceded ratio.
I don't think he was ever given enough of a chance.

Don't get me wrong he should have played over s*** like Williamson and actually would have been first choice alongside Taylor for me. But he never looked confident and always looked like he had a mistake in him because he expected more time to react. Whether that was down to poor management or his lack of adaptation we'll never know.Goat wrote:But how many games did Mbiwa actually have in his favoured centre back position? Kramaric to Leicester, £9m. Young, amazing scoring record (albeit in lesser leagues) and capped a s*** load of times for Croatia youth teams and 4 times for the senior side with 2 goals.
I dunno

Like a seahorse in the night, he rides with haste to his beloved's domain.

If Ba and Remy have taught us anything then it goes
Lower league side who get relegated -> Us -> Chelsea -> (Probably) Turkey
Can't wait for the Kramaric and Armstrong partnership next year

Pardew revealed that apart from trying to sign striker Bafetimbi Gomis from Swansea, he is also interested in a former Newcastle striker Shola Ameobi, currently a free agent after leaving Turkish club Gaziantep.
He said: “I like Shola he is a good professional. And Jermaine Defoe. There is no striker I am not interested in at the moment.”
Oh please happen.

Shola could never score against us. It would break his heart.

If Pards thought ANY of our players ( Sissoko/Krul aside) could displace the pub team he's inherited I'd be amazed.
