Shame that Vuckic is going, he's only 21 months short of a testimonial.

I bet AC Milan are gutted that we (allegedly) beat them to his signature <laugh>

In seriousness, our record of developing young players is abysmal. Other than Carroll, is there anyone else we've had from a young age that's come through the ranks and been decent?

Tim Krul I suppose would count, if you're going to talk about foreign players signed as teenagers. But I can't think of any that came all the through the academy and has been a standout.

Yeah I guess I'd add Krul in there.

Taylor when he was young was the U21 captain for ages and got a call up to the seniors once I think?

<dummett>
Yeah you'd have to chuck Dummett in there. Been impressed with him this season and tbh wouldn't have too many complaints if he was our LB next season.

Really? I'd be disappointed, it's a position that needs an upgrade imo.

This. Why settle for Dummett when we could easily attract better?
I dunno

We could but Rafa seems to like him so I can't see him rushing straight out for a left back anyway, and I just think there's other areas that are a priority before we upgrade on Dummett. He's solid and dependable.

We've needed to sign a left back for 20 odd years, why start now? We'll just sign more strikers as usual.

Dummett is solid. Not particularly good, but definitely not s****. We've had worse. From the few times he's played centre back, he seems to suit that better. If I recall correctly that was his proper position before Pardiola slotted him in on the left?

That's impressive. Especially since he hasn't been a Shrewsbury player since January.
