Meh. Not too excited by this based on his record in Italy.

He could be great! Doesn't look like a 28-year-old in any way shape or form like.

The guy is talented, whether he can make an impact in this league we don't know, but at the very least we have some genuine competition for Mitrovic which should benefit us and him.

His record apart from his time at Roma is exceptional. Good signing in my opinion.

In the champions league he has scored 5 goals in his last 6 games against the Manchester clubs.....Not bad at all

Great signing in my opinion. Offers us something different up front and has a great record aside from the brief time where he's been somewhere he doesn't feel wanted. Hopefully Tiote can help him settle in a bit.

Happy with this!

Glad we got him. According to Sky, McClaren want another striker, hope it will be Berahino, not Gomis.

If that's the case this transfer window really is starting to feel like a clearout, and an expensive one at that. Sounds like quite a lot of our players, including some who've not been here long are surplus to requirements.

That said I'd be surprised if it's true.

Berahino to replace Cisse next hopefully. Could basically field an almost completely new XI at the start of next season (hopefully in the Prem) than the one we ended the last day of last season with. We need a massive clear out and better all round squad.

Chuffed with this signing. Hopefully he can bang some in running off Mitro's knockdowns.

If he hadn't have moved to Roma we'd all be creaming ourselves over this move. Hopefully he sees us as a way to make amends for his time there.

I'm not very excited by this move but in all fairness I've not really taken much notice of him before.

I was hoping against hope that we'd get a PL proven striker as this could be risky again.

I'll be very surprised if we get two strikers. Don't want either Berahino or Gomis though

No doubt if he signs the Chronicle will do an article on Newcastle Uniteds' number 88s over the years! ;)

Good signing imo. Sure he's had a bad spell at Roma, but sometimes things just don't work out (we know that more than most).
