With the amount of work he did defensively in the last game would we not be better swapping Townsend and Aarons?

There you go, Aarons at LBCheickyTiote wrote:Team news in 5 minutes, should be interesting. I have no idea how McClaren is going to try and ruin our team!
Re: NUFC v Wba match day thread.
Probably both at LB, two wingers make a full back in McNuggets eyes.

Aarons and Townsend bombing forward, Shelvey just standing there shouting and pointing means Colo will have to cover the left will leave a massive gap for West Brom to exploit.

Who else could we realistically play at LB?

Mbabu was supposed to be back. Or Sterry? Just an actual defender would be lovely.Don Sholeone wrote:Who else could we realistically play at LB?
Joe Kinnear: "I think they've got some magnificent midfield players; Tiote, Ben Afri, Yohan Kebab, Sissoko are very solid."
Re: NUFC v Wba match day thread.
The kid Gibson is an actual left back. Even Saivet would be a better shout, someone with an actual defensive mindset rather than just he's left footed he'll do.

McCalaren "hopes" the new striker will be involved. He's the manager, he shouldn't hope, just pick him

Or in the case of Klopp, a CB.Beatski wrote:the classic sunday league tactical acumenFrank Dialogue wrote:he's left footed he'll do.

I'm the scumbag outlaw. You're the pillar of justice. Neither of us like looking at ourselves in the mirror. Do we have a deal?
Re: NUFC v Wba match day thread.
Saivet benched in favour of someone who was all set for a transfer away just a week ago I give up.
If we lose today, I really hope they have the balls to sack him.

West Brom's lineup is horrendous. They're playing with 4 CBs and 3 CMs! This game will be terrible. They will sit back and defend whilst kicking us all over the pitch, breaking up the game and frustrating us. Mitrovic will be fouled loads by their CBs without any free kicks or yellows (like against Stoke) and then they will grab it at the end.

Re: NUFC v Wba match day thread.
Someone asked the other day something like have we lost with him in the team this season. Didn't ever see the answer but he is an assured presence and will add some defensive power to the team. Give Shelvey a chance to play it forward but it should be Saivet not Shelvey playing.Heisen wrote:Saivet benched in favour of someone who was all set for a transfer away just a week ago I give up.
