NUFC v Wba match day thread.
Here's another lacklustre effort
Feel free to add the amazing banner again.
Premier League:
West Brom (h)
The Magpies return to home turf on Saturday, when Tony Pulis brings his Baggies up for an old-fashioned, non-televised, 3pm KO. Tickets are on public sale.
NUFC: United have something of a defensive crisis, with Jamaal Lascelles serving a one game suspension and Chancel Mbemba and Paul Dummett both out.
Steven Taylor is lacking match fitness but expected to play his first game since a 0-0 draw at Old Trafford back in August. Kevin Mbabu however returns.
Loan arrival Seydou Doumbia should feature but probably from the bench, while Jack Colback has apparently been ruled out - although he may yet be pressed into service at left back.
Still on the sick list are Massadio Haidara, Tim Krul, Vurnon Anita, Gabriel Obertan, Papiss Cisse, Siem De Jong and Sylvain Marveaux, while Cheick Tiote isn't apparently considered for selection at present.
Due to the reduced head count, a quartet of U21 players are in the squad: Dan Barlaser, Liam Gibson, Jamie Sterry and Callum Williams. Lubo Satka would expect to feature, but has just gone on loan to League Two side York City - although yet to play.
Here's a brief rundown of those players:
Barlaser (number 47): Winger/midfielder who turned 19 last month and played in the recent "secret" derby kickabout. Along with Adam Armstrong and Freddie Woodman, Dan played for England U18s last summer.
Gibson (number 35): 18 year-old left back in the final months of his current contract who missed most of last season due to injury but is back to fitness.
Also facing the mackems last month, Liam had a brief loan spell at Gateshead before Christmas during which he played once. His maiden league goal for United U21s came against West Brom last week.
Sterry (number 42): 20 year-old right back who has been on the bench for a number of first team games this season without being called upon and has just come back from injury.
Williams (number 40): A belated birthday present for the central defender who turned 19 on Thursday and has been a reserve team regular for two years but also in the final months of his current deal at SJP.

WBAFC: Albion also face selection issues at left back, with Chris Brunt and stand-in Jonny Evans both now expected to be missing on Saturday.
James Morrison and Callum McManaman are out, while midfielder Alex Pritchard is yet to make his debut following a deadline day loan move from Spurs.
Ahead of their visit to Tyneside, Albion drew 1-1 at home to Swansea City on Tuesday evening. Saido Berahino appeared as a 62nd minute substitute.
Referee: Lee Mason - The Lancashire lad has presided over two 1-0 away wins involving us so far this time round; our single goal success at Bournemouth and Everton's late sickener at Gallowgate.

Re: NUFC v Wba match day thread.
We were brilliant in our last home match, WBA are crap and if Mbabu and Taylor are fit to play the defence isn't that bad but is dangerously close to being so.
I think we can win this, if we do lose then SM has to go!

Yeah, lose today and McClaren has to go.

We are at home. the brummies will just defend as is Pullis's way and give us the initiative. Hopefully that will be enough to get the Mags going and a much needed win secured.

Mbabu back in the back four, finally?
If we don't win today, McClaren has to go. If we lose and he won't get sacked, we're going down most definitely.
