Match Thread - Stoke Vs Newcastle Utd 02/03/16

Post by Ramone » Wed Mar 02, 2016 2:46 pm

Oi oi,

The boys have just got back from their mad one in Lad Manga and some of them are pure hanging to f*** if reports are to be believed.

Those suffering from minging hangovers are Coloccini and Townsend (he reckons he might be up for the sesh if he feels better later on). Most of the lads who couldn't make the trip to the initial Spanish Szechuan are still too ill to play although Mitrovic (#TopLad) is well up for it.

Colback and Shelvey could get suspensions if they go off it, the mad cunts. Big Mac will have to have a word.

Squad goals:
<elliot>
<janmaat> <lascelles> <saylor> <dummett>
<shelvey> <saivet> <sissoko>
<townsend> <mitrovic> <wijnaldum>
Big Mac says:
"We need to be harder to beat away from home. We have to start demonstrating the character needed to win these away games. Stoke will be a very difficult game because they are a very good team with good players. Given our away form, most people probably don't expect us to get anything and we've got to go there and prove people wrong."
Mark "Sparky" Hughes says:
"They are struggling for confidence and their away record isn't that good, but every game is hard in the Premier League and we have to make sure we are ready. It will be a test for us because Newcastle are fighting for their lives, and looking at their squad you sometimes wonder how and why they are where they are. At the moment they are struggling for good results so we need to take advantage of any lack of confidence that they have."

From Facebook:
BOSS TIGHT LIPPED ON CAPTAINCY

He hasn't revealed who will wear the armband yet but Magpies head coach McClaren has called for "11 leaders" on the pitch against Stoke tonight.

If the picture is actually of the captain for tonight and not just a placeholder, Mitro and Shelvey are the only Caucasian chaps with tattoos on their arms aren't they?

Edit: Saying that, the tatts in the Facebook picture don't look like either Mitro or Shelvey's. Colback has tattoos similar to that but only on one arm. Please don't be Colback <erk>

Overseas so this is a 4am KO here so will likely (certainly) miss it. I'm going for a 1-0 Toon early on (Mitro), Stoke equaliser just before half time then Stoke to win 2-1.

Its not going to be a picture of the captain tonight. They're not going to make someone get their full kit on and pose with the captain's armband for a teaser post on facebook.

Also I that seems to be Coloccini in the picture anyway. They were probably just using the picture for the captains armband not to reveal who tonights captain is.

I'd suggest it's none of the players.

I saw the game against Lillestrøm on La Manga, and they were terrible. The first half they were almost outplayed by a average Norwegian team that has been out of season since the beginning of November.
The second half Newcastle took over the game, no surprise really since they are in the middle of season, but still Lillestrøm had two big chances in the second half. Newcastle had one chance in the second half, and it wasnt even a chance really, lucky goal from Aarons.

Stoke has to have their worst game all season if they are going to loose this.
And I'm pretty sure Mark Hughes knows that if he throws everything he's got forward the Newcastle defence will crumble.

This <laugh>

Bloody hell MJ <laugh>

Anyway, I can't see past a home win. 3-0 Stoke. I really hope I'm wrong, but I'm completely pessimistic about the rest of this season. <erk>
