Other Clubs' Transfer Rumours/Deals (Summer 17/18)
It's about that time of year again
I thought I'd get this thread started with the delightful rumour that Galatasaray have turned down a bid for Wesley Sneijder. From Sunderland . Probably absolute bollocks but here's the link: http://www.soccernews.com/sunderland-wa ... ns/229066/

Josh King linked with Spurs but Howe says he isn't for sale
Mbappe's preferred destination is Real Madrid
Bournemouth, Stoke and West Brom have offered John Terry £100,00pw and a £5m sign-on fee to try and keep him from going to China
Chelsea are in for Kieran Tierney who is valued at £17m
Aiden Flint from Bristol City is being chased by a number of Prem clubs, with West Ham & Brom being the frontrunners.
All per the Beeb, per somewhere else.

Sandro Ramirez of Malaga has been linked to us and many others.
Wouldn't be a bad player to have.

A name like Sneijder in a Sunderland shirt would just be weird
Re: Other Clubs' Transfer Rumours/Deals (Summer 17/18)
Sneijder won't go to the championship

* Everton striker Romelu Lukaku could reject a return to Chelsea and sign for Manchester United because the 23-year-old Belgium international is concerned about how he will fit in with manager Antonio Conte's tactics.
* Chelsea are considering a combined £70m move for two players from Serie A side Roma - Belgium midfielder Radja Nainggolan, 29, and Germany centre-back Antonio Rudiger, 24
* Arsenal, Everton, Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool and West Ham are monitoring Sunderland's English goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, who could move for about £25m
* Arsenal have joined Tottenham in wanting to sign Everton midfielder Ross Barkley if the 23-year-old England international does not agree a new contract with the Goodison Park club

Barkely is far too inconsistent for a top club, someone like Everton is about the right level.

Barkley is a great player on his day but just doesn't have the brain to play at the top level. He gives the ball away in stupid areas too often and constantly looks to shoot when he's near the box.

How many goal scoring midfielders do Spurs want anyway?

I'd have thought that their #1 priority would be another decent striker to reduce their reliance on Kane in that position.

Not a bad couple of signings if the rumours are true:
RCN Radio (Whatever the f*** that is) wrote:Manchester United have reached a verbal agreement to sign Real Madrid attacking midfielder James Rodriguez, 25, at the end of the season.
Daily Mail wrote:United want Everton striker Romelu Lukaku, 23, and will offer former Toffees forward Wayne Rooney, 31, as part of the deal.
It’s the noise, the passion, the feeling of belonging, the pride in your city.

That's another £150m for Mourinho to blow.

To be fair, those would be huge improvements on what they have now - and would fill their needs. But it will mean they've spent an outrageous amount of money in the past 4 years with nothing yet to show for it.Bodacious Benny wrote:That's another £150m for Mourinho to blow.

Definitely. Pogba was a big marquee signing last season but in reality they'd have been better served getting a couple of world class £40/45m players in.I'm over Colo wrote:To be fair, those would be huge improvements on what they have now - and would fill their needs. Pogba is still young but his goal tally pathetic and unsure that his game suited to Premiership where he is quickly closed down . Plus , Juve haven't really missed him at all . Jury out .

Re: Other Clubs' Transfer Rumours/Deals (Summer 17/18)
Pogba was an amazing coup. He is 24 years old. United can realistically look forward to 10 more years of having one of the best players in the world in their midfield. So many times this season he has shown his class and he's basically playing CDM so I'm not sure why his goal tally even comes into question? And a former team not missing a player is nowhere near an appropriate measure of how well they've done since moving.

My point was that Mourinho has been whining about players being tired etc so he could have bought two brilliant midfielders for £45/50m a piece rather than Pogba.
