If we didn't sign anyone, he'd have to take responsibility for that too. Not that there's remotely a chance of it happening.

The money is there, we know that. If we don't sign anyone(although we've already signed Atsu and we will sign more) then it's on Rafa. It'd be bad targets. Be it ones that didn't want to come here, preferred other options, weren't good value, demanded too much or just poor players. There's more to transfers than not being willing to pay and now there's more money in the game we need to realise that.

To be fair I hadn't really heard of Xabi Alonso when Rafa signed him for Liverpool either. We need to have a team rather than a collection of individuals like we've had for so long- we were all buzzing at signing Wijnaldum and ended up going down.

Agreed. Although he has some absolute stinkers in his past as well.

At least with every other player we'd been linked with I'd heard bits and pieces, mainly positive. With Samaris, I literally had no idea he existed until this afternoon.
