Wholeheartedly agree about Drinkwater. He's exactly like the Fabian Delph Man City transfer. Barkley on the other hand has had some brilliant periods of performance at a young age feels more like an over-hyped potential star than a token home grown signing to stash away.Colly wrote:No I agree entirely, but there is a huge difference between Chelsea's starting line-up and those weird token signings from other Premier League teams they make occasionally to fill the home grown quotas in the squad. Barkley would certainly be one of them, and Danny Drinkwater unquestionably is.I'm over Colo wrote: Don't disagree with the latter point, but we're a long way off of having a starting line-up equal to Chelsea's starting line-up, and if that's the measuring stick, a lot of people are in line for disappointment.

Guardian's Rumour Mill saying Fernando Torres could come to us, which frankly would be hilarious

Have we been linked with a move to tempt Steven Gerrard out of retirement yet?Leonid Brezhnev wrote:Guardian's Rumour Mill saying Fernando Torres could come to us, which frankly would be hilarious

He had one brilliant season for Liverpool but injuries maybe did him in. Don't think he's done much at all since about 2010 bar maybe one good season with Atletico. Shame really.

In April of 2010 Torres was injured in his knee.... He was surgered and he forced to be in the South African World Cup.
Doctors said that if he forced for play only in two months maybe he can't play football any more.... and he took his decision. Since then, Fernando Torres have never been the same. Between 2000-2007 (his first Atletico period) he was a very good player, but he played alone, because the rest of the players was rubbish. In 2007-2010 (Liverpool) he was one of the best strikers in the world. Then, the injury, he signed with Chelsea....And his career at top level was over. In 2015-2016 he player a good level in the last months of the season... But today, He only was good for play in leagues like MLS or similar.

Yeah, you could tell he was in decline even before he moved to Chelsea.Diego21 wrote:In April of 2010 Torres was injured in his knee.... He was surgered and he forced to be in the South African World Cup.

Good stopper but can't work out why Krul is being shoved out the door. Rob Elliott isn't good enough and I don't think Darlow is either so I'd be keen on Adrian (or Reina!).
