Sissoko was sold for a huge profit, that alone makes that a success. Marveaux was a free transfer and did a job on occasion. Thauvin is a brilliant player but never wanted to come here, can't blame Carr for that. Don't forget as well that he was the scout, while he undoubtedly had a great deal of influence his role was to identify targets not to sign players. He spotted a number of gems at bargain basement prices, who knows who was on his lists if we'd actually been willing to spend some money.

Leads alluded to they very point after he left ( and had a free opinion ). We were trying to buy them cheap AND buy players who would be sold on as proven quality Premiership standard.

Cisse - scoring for fun in the Bundesliga and very highly rated.
It's not as if he found these players in the Venezualan 3rd division.
