Don't be absurd.

What about Faustino Asprilla? He was rumoured to have taught a horse to play football. A f&$@ing HORSE!! Think what he could do with Colback <divadance>

And he's a legend. And he's no managerial experience. And he loves porn and guns. And he has an affinity with the crowd. Logic therefore dictates he's a shoe in for manager of the mother fricking millennium

In January 2008 there was a lot of scepticism about Keegan's possible return. But when the appointment was announced, the delight among people was massive. I think some of the delighted people might well have been voicing scepticism, just days earlier. I think the same might be the case with Beardsley.

In 20 years we've also produced 2 Ameobis, Taylor and Dummett.

And Keegan had proven himself as a manager, which would have played no small part in people being delighted about him returning. Beardsley has had 20 years to impress as a coach and demonstrate he's got the qualities to manage at a higher level, and yet hasn't. You overstated the impact of the crowd on Beardsley's career (plenty of clubs have amazing crowds, and I don't like any club, including ours trying to play it off like we have some divine fanbase), and you're overstating the benefit of making a managerial hiring pandering to the fans' nostalgia for past players - and frankly insulting the intelligence of our fans that they would magically welcome Beardsley as manager because of his on-field accomplishments so long ago.

My mistake. Well, yes, you're right, but that case doesn't write off my argument, since your evidence is anecdotal.
So my evidence is anecdotal so doesn't count whereas you provide no evidence at all for your fanciful claims but get annoyed when nobody backs you up? Are you on something?

1...I didn't say your evidence didn't count. I said it didn't disprove anything.
2...Get annoyed when nobody backs me up? I hope that other people who see that statement, check what I've written so that they see that your claim is false - I haven't once complained about not being backed up.

You have misunderstood due to not reading carefully enough. I haven't said that any fans are better than others. I've said that there is a chemistry between certain clubs' fans and certain potential managers, and that that chemistry improves managerial performance in my opinion.

I'd be interested to see what would happen if Heathrow employed a retired pilot as their most work-burdened air traffic controller because he was a popular figure back in his flying days and has some experience guiding the odd light aircraft into landing at his local farm.

This is unhelpful. You're also ignoring good points to cherry pick an argument.

That is a false claim. If you provide an example, then I'll show you why it's a false example, but something tells me you won't be providing an example because there aren't any to provide.

I actually invented the word 'fake'. True story.

No you didn't, Trump did. I know this because he said so and he never lies. Ever!

It's Trump's about "fake news". He said just the word "fake". Maybe he mean "fake orgasm" or something.

I'm assuming that is something Melania has become something of an expert on.

She's too young. More like Barbara Bush.

You literally focused on the point he made in brackets while ignoring the more relevant point that fans aren't going to be won over by a nostalgia appointment of a player who retired nearly two decades ago, and even if they were you're overstating the boost it provides.
