Pulis sacked

Post by Valentino's fast feet » Mon Nov 20, 2017 11:07 am

Prem managers dropping like flies thus season. McInnes early favourite, be interesting to eee what the hype is about. Closely followed by big Sam, obviously, then our dear friend Alan propping up third.

Clement doesn't seem to be under much pressure, but considering how poor Swansea are you'd think it wouldn't last long. Although apparently Italy want Conte back, that would be a curve ball.

Gary Megson in charge and hopefully no new impetus before we play them.
West Brom were traditionally yo-yo and reverting to type this season.
First game Newcastle United v Burnley, 18 September 1965 W 3-2 Hilley Anderson and Bennett <love>

What would be the point? <laugh>

You know it's nailed on that they'll get a new manager just before playing us and then beat us <laugh>

Pulis had to go. They have been awful since January. Fans tolerate his style of football if it's winning them games. But when you are god awful to watch and losing every week then something's got to give.

I'd expect him to end up managing the mackems for at least a portion of this season.

He's odds on favourite for the Wales job now, probably a good appointment for them.

West Ham should’ve waited a few days and got him instead of Moyes

Two weeks, but the premise is fair. Although I think WHU had their mind made up, the swiftness in bringing Moyes in is almost unheard of in football. Would be very surprised if they weren't already in contact. And I think another way to look at it is the Mackems - most agreed that they did well getting Coleman, and it would have been a surprise if they could've tempted Pulis. Yet if he was an avaliable option you'd think they'd move heaven and earth.

Sunderland should've waited a few days and got him instead of Coleman!

I can’t see Pulis saying yes to Sunderland though. He can wait and realistically have his pick of bottom half PL clubs desperate to avoid relegation.

Favourite for Wales now, which isn't a surprise. You're right Beardface, come february he could have a king's ransom from an in-danger club. Most of the struggling clubs have already made the change though. Swansea maybe? Although I have a feeling Clement has the backing even if they go down.

Ironic that a club in West Brom's position that sack their manager and need someone to come in to secure Premier League status would usually appoint ...

Tony Pulis.

Lineker made the same comment and been getting some stick, but it's perfectly valid. End of the day though, they were right to sack him. Results haven't been there, and his style of football commands results regardless of everything else.

Rumour has it that Pulis wants out of club management now anyway.

They were heading down with Pulis. He'd lost the fans and clearly couldn't organise or motivate his players. They'd play 5 defenders and 2 holding midfielders against the likes of Huddersfield.

And were still conceding goals! <disgrace>
