Match thread - NUFC v Man Utd
Manchester United (h)
Having failed to collect maximum points on home turf during November, December and January, Newcastle attempt to register a first home win in nine attempts this coming Sunday.
It's a 2.15pm KO for Sky live coverage and sold out.
NUFC confirm that the recent passing of ex-player Vic Keeble, former club doctor Keith Beveridge and young fan Frankie Sherwood will be marked by a minute's applause before kick-off.
Jose Mourinho will visit Gallowgate for the first time as Red Devils boss in the Premier League, having failed to win any of his six previous PL games there in charge of Chelsea (three losses, three draws).
NB: he has won twice here in the League Cup.
Speaking ahead of the game, Mourinho of SJP:
"I think it's difficult honestly, I've always felt (they are) beautiful matches but difficult matches.
"I like to go there, I like the feeling of going to Mr Robson's home....I like the stadium, I think the stadium is really nice.
"I like the atmosphere, They are a good, enthusiastic crowd. I like the Geordies, I like to go there."

One of those that we're expected to lose so I'm not too worried. Man U have at times struggled against crap sides so who knows, maybe we'll do alright

Team line up guys? Silmini will mostly likely come of the bench so I'll go for this
Darlow
Yedelin Lascells Lejune Dummet
Merino Diame Shevely
Atsu Perez Kenedy
Subs : Dubraka, Clark, Manquilo, Hayden, Murphy, Ritchie, Silmini.
Knowing Benitez though he'll go for Joselu / Gayle / Ritchie as starters.
United to win 3-1. Lukaku, Sanchez & Pogba screamer. Silmini consolation.

Just about to set off to come over for the game and hopes are high! A very, very nervy 1-0 win for The Toon!
Re: Match thread - NUFC v Man Utd
I'd rather play a one legged Ritchie than Atsu on the right...Sanchino wrote:Team line up guys? Silmini will mostly likely come of the bench so I'll go for this

I'd say probably not a game for Shelvey either, I'd stick Hayden in the middle with Merino and Diame, Kenedy, Murphy and Perez up top.

Slimani still fecked i see. Like the look of the team tbh, maybe murphy for ritchie but overall looks decent.
Re: Match thread - NUFC v Man Utd
Slimani looking like a bad signing as each game passes by.
We might as well take the default loss with non existent Gayle up top.
