West Ham charged over anti-doping breach

Post by Tsi » Tue Feb 20, 2018 4:47 pm

Not a lot of info at the minute apart from this FA statement.
It is alleged the club failed to ensure its 'club whereabouts' information was accurate on three occasions within 12 months
Man city were charged and fined £35,000 in January for a similar offence but this led to a outcry of being too soft and the FA vowed to overhaul its disciplinary sanctions amid concern about lenient punishments.
Bournemouth were also fined £35,000 in march last year.
We will see if this will be the case for West Ham.

It'll be a £40,000 fine.

Were the offences by the other clubs for repeated failures like West Ham, or more a one-time thing?

Manchester City broke the Football Association's anti-doping rules three times in less than five months, the governing body has said.

Bournemouth pretty much the same, the fines a joke but after Man city the FA said they will "overhaul its disciplinary sanctions" if they have or not we'll soon find out.

A bit more info has come out now.
A West Ham spokesman said: "We would like to make it clear that the breach is a club administrative matter and does not concern any of our players."
West Ham have been charged in relation to regulation 14 (d) of the FA's anti-doping rules.

The rules state: "It shall be a breach by the club if the information contained in such reports is either initially inaccurate or has not been updated by the club as necessary to ensure it remains accurate."

Breach of this regulation does not constitute an anti-doping rule violation, but instead constitutes misconduct, according to the anti-doping rules.

If was about Coventry or something similar, the fine will be around 40 millions.

West Ham are such an unlikeable club <laugh>

You get some teams that a lot of other fans don't really mind either way (Swansea, Southampton etc. and even Leicester before and after their success) but I don't think I know any non-West Ham fan that has a good word to say about them.
I'm the scumbag outlaw. You're the pillar of justice. Neither of us like looking at ourselves in the mirror. Do we have a deal?

I think any offence relating to doping in this manner needs a points deduction, a professional club seriously cannot be allowed to be so poor on such issues, we are living In a time where doping allegations and cover ups are running riot, football needs to take these matters very seriously otherwise you are just asking for trouble.
