Apparently Palace are willing to sell him for £18m, and the deal is dependent on us getting £15m for Ritchie.
Whilst Townsend is an upgrade on Ritchie, it rankles me we're having to sell to buy. It would be nice if we could just buy Townsend and keep Ritchie for squad depth, especially since Ritchie is a workhorse who rarely picks up injuries and undoubtedly was one of our more consistent players last season.

I do like Ritchie but he is limited, I think his best football is played in the championship, that's not saying he cant do it in the premier league, he's just not as effective, it will be a shame to see him go but he's the sort that would need to move on eventually, ideally he would be good as a squad player but we just arent in a position to afford thatEdison Heisen wrote: ↑Sun Jul 01, 2018 11:08 amApparently Palace are willing to sell him for £18m, and the deal is dependent on us getting £15m for Ritchie.

Hell no to Townsend.
Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (Summer 2018)
Yes to Townsend. Still only 26 - £18m is good value. Kenedy and solid striker would make a good window. Really hope Merino stays.
Do we have to sell to buy?

If we're chasing our old players, Ben Arfa is available on a free

Love how fuming the NE journos are that they didn't have a f***ing clue we were signing Ki but don't want to admit it. Every article now prefaced with 'As we reported back here etc.' (Toure) or 'this story is nothing new, we knew this all along guys' (Townsend).
They have such fragile egos journalists. Very weird bunch. Never known an industry that seemingly believes it is above criticism as much as print journalism.

Just a shame we can't sell Murphy for anything approaching similar money...
Murphy just needs time. Young player, adapting to the PL, getting used to living away from home for the first time, let's give him a chance. Any one of us moving from one end of the country to another at that age would take time to settle.

Ive had a few run ins with Mark Douglas and Luke Edwards, you always know you are hitting the nail on the head when they let themselves get wound up when you call them on their ****Edison Heisen wrote: ↑Sun Jul 01, 2018 3:17 pmLove how fuming the NE journos are that they didn't have a f***ing clue we were signing Ki but don't want to admit it. My point was more about the apparent amount West Ham have bid. It's like seeing a decent lass in a club, eyeing her up a bit, only for some southern wanker flash the cash and buy her some posh bubbly. We might well be keen, but not quite in the race.

Townsend for £18mil would be fantastic, for all the moaning he really did put in good shift for us in the few months he was here, hopefully rafa can re-unlock that talent. Kenedy on the other wing is still the main buy for me right now though.

Can't see us paying 27m for Plea.
Rumours we are in advance talks with Chelsea in regards to a loan to buy deal for Kenedy

Kenedy and Townsend on the wings would be pretty decent.
I'm the scumbag outlaw. You're the pillar of justice. Neither of us like looking at ourselves in the mirror. Do we have a deal?

Yeah but to be fair with it being west ham once they are out the club the flash guy turns and asks if she will pay for the taxi home and it turns out he was trying to be flash to impress all his mates, she slaps him and goes elsewhere because they are just as bigger frauds as us in the marketComing It's Home wrote: ↑Mon Jul 02, 2018 12:03 am
