Only one game for each team in the Premier League this weekend - remember when teams would play on Good Friday and Easter Monday? - as the relegation battle hots up with still only 6 points separating 12th and 18th positions with AFC Bournemouth and Watford, who face each other at Vicarage Road, now seemingly safe from the dreaded drop each having reached 36 points with 7 games to play. In the lunchtime kick-off Crystal Palace, who last time out ended a 4 game losing streak with victory over Huddersfield Town, host Liverpool and an in-form Mo Salah and it could well be damage limitation for The Eagles as defeat could see them drop back into the relegation places. Victory for Brighton & Hove Albion over Leicester City could go along way to see them secure safety as could a win for The Toon over Huddersfield Town who appear to have hit a mini-slump after failing to score in successive home games against relegation rivals Swansea City and Crystal Palace. Swansea City have a difficult home game against Manchester United whilst an apparently doomed West Bromwich Albion take on Burnley at The Hawthorns. The big game of the day is at The London Stadium where Southampton are the visitors and with only 1 win in their last 17 games The Saints will see this as an opportunity to hammer another nail into The Hammers' coffin. The teatime kick-off sees champions elect Manchester City travel the short distance to Goodison Park and victory for Peps' men would see them have the chance of wrapping the title up next weekend against United at The Etihad. Sunday sees 19th placed Stoke City, with only 1 win in the last 12, travel to The Emirates and defeat for The Potters could prove fatal in the days' other game Chelsea will be looking for victory in a derby against Tottenham Hotspur as they look to keep alive their hopes of Champions League football next season.

This evening we get the chance to see how the mackems have progressed under Chris Coleman as their game at Pride Park has been chosen for TV coverage and despite a 10 game winless run the unwashed remain only 5 points from safety although this is in the main due to the ineptitude of their rivals none of whom seem capable of winning at the moment.

As always thanks for reading and enjoy your Easter weekend whatever you are doing.

If we beat Huddersfield we are as good as safe imo.

Draw is not the end of the world .

Defeat would be a big setback obviously. I'll go for 2-1 Newcastle. Need to get after them as we did with saints.

Wolves already 2-0 up at Boro, they're certainly going to surprise a few next season. They've got great spending power (already paying £80k a week to some players in the Championship), a good manager, a superagent that can pull of fantastic transfers and owners happy to spend. Could easily be top 10 next season imo.

I hope Rowett reminds his players of the religious significance of Good Friday and they crucify Sunderland.
My problem is reconciling my gross behaviour with my net income.

They'll sign Ronaldo and he'll score less than 15 goals.
