Bayer Leverkusen, Monaco etc have all finished runners up. Doesn't exactly go down in history. I mainly mean for the rimming he continually gets. Mourinho gets stick but at the end of the day look at Man U under him, at least they've won 2 or 3 trophies.

It equals exactly nothing.

If we got to an FA cup final it would be an amazing day even if we lost but we won't have achieved anything really. We'd have still won f*** all since the 60's.

I mean... Man U got nothing this year and got knocked out of the champions league in a pretty shocking way.

Yeah, but who's had more success over the last 2 to 3 years? It's not even close.

Does anyone else think that this Real team having won three in a row proves how poor the very top level of European football is at the moment?

I genuinely can't remember it being this bad for so long.

Not really. Man C, Barcelona, Juventus, Bayern etc are all excellent sides. Real just know how to win this competition while making it look simple. To beat the teams who won the league in 3 countries in the Knockout stages speaks for itself.

For as well as Liverpool did reaching the final they had a pretty 'easy' route to it, or as easy as you're going to get anyway.

Not saying they're bad sides but the fact this side have achieved three in a row something which hasn't been done for forty years shows the level of quality and competition has been missing for a few years now. Juventus have been the only relatively consistent side who have punched at their weight. Bayern and Barca are shadows of the sides they once were, and as poor as the English clubs have been, I think an era of dominance in Europe similar to the late noughties is just around the corner.

Also (and not that I mind), there were far too many high scoring games in the knockouts as well - and I don't think it's because the one side were so much better but rather the teams they were up against just played poorly.

I do feel for the guy. The first mistake was forgivable but the second one was careless under the circumstances.

That'll be his last game and his legacy for Liverpool <erk>

Yep and they're such cowards that they delete their account as soon as loads of people start engaging with their tweets.

It’s the noise, the passion, the feeling of belonging, the pride in your city.

FYI - the other previews will be absolutely nowhere near the length of that one. That was all written over the course of about a week and very much with a point to prove.
